Chapter 7

Alpha Jaxon's POV

I had been sat at my desk waiting for Eric to check in with any news on Maddison anxiously tapping my pen against the mahogany. How long does it take to get a little bit of info? My wolf hadn't settle since the club, he wanted to bring his mate home and have his way with her, mark her and make her our Luna. I could tell he was mad at me as he hadn't communicated much since last night. I couldn't handle waiting any longer and decided to call Eric. It rang twice before he answered but felt like a lifetime. 

" What's up Boss?" He chirped at me nervously.

" Some news would be good, my wolf is having a major sulk and I am not far from joining him, well?" I retorted.

" Erm..well..erm.. you're not gonna like this Alpha but seems she has a child, he looks about four or five, not seen a boyfriend or anything go in or out their house it appears to be just the two of them. I've done some checks and she owns the home and the car. I can carry on or do you want me back?"

My heart ached. I was certain she was pure and untouched by her scent but this child had me doubting my senses, she must have been a kid herself when she had him. It had me completely intrigued about her story, her background. My wolf perked up and barked that our mate was pure. He was smitten. This child made things more difficult though, I don't have just one person to convince to love me but now two. 

" Come back Eric, we can do some more searches from here, thanks brother ".

" Oh, Alpha, one more thing... she saw me" Eric mumbled into the phone and then hung up. Chicken. 

Fuck me! This just gets better and better. Now she will know we have been watching her.

When Eric returned he gave me her address and her full name and we sat down and decided to search up anything we could. She didn't really have any social media presence and the house had not long been owned by her. Where had she come from ? I had no idea what my next move should be. 

" Maybe we should go back to the club and talk to her that way " Eric suggested.

" And have her think I am some kind of frequent strip club goer, I think not. I need to bump into her somewhere "

" Or just go round her house and tell her the truth Alpha "

" No way! That's an even worse idea that going back to Scarletts's, I will think of something. In the mean time keep a tail on her, I don't want anything to happen to her ",

" No problem, I will send one of our top warriors, I'll get on it now Alpha" and with that Eric left my office. If he was anything he was efficient.
