Chapter 13

Alpha Jaxon's POV

I can't believe she just upped and left. My wolf paced back and forth in my mind anxiously, he wasn't impressed that we hadn't secured our mate, forever primitive are our wolves. I watched her from my office window as she walked down the street away from us. Feisty. I like that, I like that a lot. Wait a second...did she just give me the middle finger!? She will definitely pay for that one day. Soon hopefully. And I plopped back down in my chair imagining all the ways our little mate will pay for being such a bad girl. My wolf scoffed in my head and turned his back on me in a huff. Us alpha males are used to getting our own way and our Maddison was causing us a great amount of discomfort, especially in the pant region. All I could do now was wait and see if she would accept the offer of working here or if I was going to have to find another way in. 

Once I returned to the pack house that evening I decided to go for a run. I jogged to the treeline and then stripped down so I could shift into my wolf without ruining my clothes. My wolf has pure jet black fur and his eyes are a vivid blue with a silver ring around the edge of the iris. He stands about 5 feet tall. We have to be so careful not to be seen by humans, they would freak the f**k out if they caught sight of our beasts. The shift takes me seconds and we shake our fur out before taking off into the forest. The feel of the breeze through our coat and the earth beneath our paws is always a great way to unwind. I catch the scent of an animal and follow it. It's a rabbit. Our wolves love to hunt live prey and we pounce grabbing the rabbit by its neck. Biting down I can taste the metallic liquid slithering down my throat and my wolf tears his victim and devours it with speed. We will usually hunt larger prey such as deer when we are in groups. Once my wolf is satiated with his meal we run the forest perimeter and then back to where I left my clothes. I caught the smell of a pack mate, Dominique. What does she want now ? I shifted back to human form and she sauntered out from behind a nearby tree and approached me. She had a smarmy grin on her face, that woman always looked fake. 

" Mmm, now that's a sight I've missed lately" She said as she dragged her hand over my chest and down to my navel.

I swatted her hand away and my wolf recoiled with disgust.

" What do you want Dominique?"

" You baby, always you "

" Not happening, it was a mistake in the first place "

" Oh come on baby, don't be like that, we were good together and you know it "

My goddess, even her voice irritated me now, so whiny and false. 

" I suggest you learn your place Dominique, I am your Alpha and you should address me as such, now if you don't mind I've got business to attend to" 

" Yes, Alpha" 

I pulled my shorts on and walked back to the pack house, my wolf and I felt a little more relaxed after our stressful day. Hopefully, we will get some sleep tonight. Since meeting Maddison is has practically evaded me. 

The next morning came round and Eric and I headed into the city. I don't usually spend every day there but if Maddison accepts then I will. I won't want to leave her side for a second. As we arrived I told reception not to disturb me and tell any clients I was in a meeting. My mind wasn't able to focus on anything serious right now, I was anxious over the Maddison situation. Eric grabbed us some coffee and just as I sat down my reception buzzed through with a call. 

" I told you I am busy, I am not interested, get them to call back later"

" Putting Miss White through Sir" 

Shit. This woman knows how to turn the big bad wolf into jelly, time to bring my 'A' game.

" Hello Maddison, do you have some news for me? " 

Eric sat there giggling like a school boy at how stupid I must have looked with the smile plastered across my face. 

" I do and I have some conditions. I will accept the position that you are offering, however you are not to invade my privacy again, do you understand? "

She will be the death of me, I love how she tells me what is what. It turns me on. She will make an excellent Luna. I rearranged myself down there before it got too uncomfortable and at this point Eric was almost doubled over and dying with laughter. The bastard. 

" Agreed Maddison, we will see you Monday then. I look forward to it " and I hung up the phone sharp before totally losing my resolve. 

I let out a deep breath and slumped back in my chair. My whole body had been so tense throughout that call. Eric sat there grinning as usual, he just loved to see me suffer. Maddison was going to be here, with me, working for us for her pack. 

Now all we had to do was spark the bond somehow.
