Malakai paced about his chambers thinking of Vorgrath’s ultimatum. He either gave him Ethan’s girl or he lost his own life. He knew Vorgrath never made empty threats, especially not when he was this desperate. He had his bad blood with Ethan but not Odessa, she reminded him of Ember. The blue eyes, the aquiline nose are just like her mother's. Ember didn’t deserve anything evil, but he had scores to settle with Ethan. He just had to stifle his conscience and save his own head. He made up his mind to help Vorgrath with getting the girl. The only way to break the protective seal on Moonrick was from inside, and he knew just the perfect way to do it.
