Chapter 3 *Blaze*  I stand here holding Ember peacefully. Neither of us say anything for a long while, just enjoy each other's embrace on the front porch. I know she is a bit sad about the kids and I know we will talk about it, once my plan for the day is set in motion. I have it all planned out the perfect way for her to get her to open up a bit. Vances little locket has shown me how little I actually know about Ember's past. We have been on quite a journey together and have learned a lot about who she is and who I am. But I have no idea who she was.  “Hey you.” I say quietly in her ear, then kiss the top of her head. “Hey.” she tells me as she turns her head to kiss me. I welcome her kisses, they are like heaven. “You know if you aren't busy I may or may not have a plan for us.” I say with a smile on my face. I already know she has nothing planned for the day. “Humm, I don't know my day is pretty packed.” She smiles up at me and I can hear her playful tone in her voice, as she turns in my arms to face me, lacing her fingers together around my neck. “Oh yea?”  “Mmhmm.”  Before she could say another word I scoop her up in my arms and start running. She squeals in surprise. I start darting toward the wood effortlessly as if she weighs nothing more than a feather. She laughs. “Okay ! okay! Put me down! I'll come willingly!” I stop and look down to meet her eyes. They were full of truth, so I slowly place her back down on the ground. She stands on her tip toes and presses a kiss to my lips. “So where are we going?” she asks me.  “You’ll see.”  *Dante* Getting the schedule was the easiest part of the day. Somehow Vance and Lysa had most of the same classes, however I was not as lucky. The only time we had together was lunch. I guess that's what happens when you test out of most classes for your age group. I somehow found time to read in the chaos of getting my mom back from the underworld and now I was in mostly senior classes while they were in junior.   After leaving the office, we all said our see you laters and went our separate ways. Lysa’s excitement to get to class ,even though she tried to hide it, was beaming off of her. And Vance didn’t seem to be excited but it doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure out why. The boys around here don't even attempt to hide the looks they give my sister. Yes she is very beautiful, but to me that doesn't give them the right to look her up and down like a piece of meat. Both humans and wolves alike stare at her gawking. If it upsets me, then I know that Vance is pissed beyond belief.  I watch him wrap his arm protectively around her as if to stake his claim as they walk down the hall. Lysa turns just before they are on the corner and waves her arm in an exaggerated manner to wave goodbye. I look down at my class schedule one more time. I have to report to 51f Biochem with Mr. Gallagher. Looking up and around the hall just has to find some kind of marking to tell me where I  need to go,  but unfortunately it seems I'm on my own. I pull out a xeroxed copy of the map that the secretary gave me. It's very hard to read because it looks like the machine needs more ink. I turn in a few ways trying to make sense of where I am and where I need to go, but it seems hopeless  and I know the bell is going to ring soon. Great I'm going to be late for class. “Do you need some help?” The sweet notes of the voice cost me to halt all activity and slowly look up to see who they belong to. I'm  greeted by a small girl no more than 5 foot with porcelain skin and beautiful lilac hair. When my gaze reaches her eyes, I can see that they are the clearest iciest blue, almost grey.  I stare at her until she clears her throat uncomfortably and I realize how awkward I am making the situation. “I'm sorry I'm sorry.” I say to her rapidly as I try to keep my cool. In an attempt to break the awkwardness, I reach out my hand. “Hi, I'm Dante.”  She smiles slightly and shakes my hand. Her skin is so smooth, it's almost like touching a cloud. “Everyone knows who you are.”  I'm not 100% sure what she means by that see, I don't really know what people know about me or what they think they know.  Before I have the opportunity to ask questions, she leans over and looks at my class schedule.  “Looks like we have our first period together. How about you follow me? Mr. Gallagher is not okay with students being late.”  We Begin walking down the corridor. It's only after I realize I'm following her like a lost puppy and that I forgot her name. “I didn't catch your name?” She giggles, and it sounds like music to my ears. “Lila.”  The name sounded just as beautiful as the person. But before I could tell her so, we turn a corner and walk into a classroom.  I see all the kids gathered around their little groups, with their desks pulled together. I freeze for a moment, as all sounds in the room stop and all the sudden you could drop a pin. Well okay then. I went to say something to Lila, but before I could she was gone half way across the room over to a jock wearing a letterman's jacket. It was your typical blonde hair hazel eyed jerky looking Joc. One that you would think you would see in the typical high school romance movie. And of course he was hanging around with two other jocks. These ones were shorter, darker hair, much less attractive. There was cheerleader on either side of them, but the ringleader of the group seemed to be alone. That was until Lila walked straight into his open arms. “Hey babe.”  I heard him say as I watched him close his arms around her with a protective manor, giving me a glare. As if to say stay away from her, She's Mine.  Who knows maybe they are Mates, but it still breaks my heart nonetheless. The bell rings and everyone straightens out their desks, leaving me to see if there is an empty one in the far-right corner of the room right next to the window. At least I'll have something to look at. Watch this be the highlight of my day.
