The True Alpha

Chapter One

The couldn't have been anymore exciting, Ava thinks as she shifts back in her human form, gathering her clothing, she quickly wears them behind a tree.

While crossing the pack border she immediately feels a presence around; making her alert. Her instincts kick in as she gets alert and changes her stance. She looks around and suddenly a wolf leaps in the air and comes in front of her and shifts.

Ava releases a sigh of relief and slowly a smile builds up on her face after looking at her best friend Dia who is currently putting on her clothes.

"It's been awhile since you last visited us." Dia speaks as she engulfs Ava in a bear hug.

"How did you guess that I'll be coming today?" Ava questions and a small smile forms on Dia's face.

"I know you Ava." Dia replies smugly crossing her hands against her chest.

"And?" Ava adds and she huffs releasing her hand and letting it fall down against her sides.

"Rachel couldn't stomach the news." She mumbles and Ava bursts out laughing and shakes her head, smiling at her friend's childish behavior.

At an age of nineteen they aren't children anymore; but Dia still has not grown. It was as if a ten year old soul is trapped in a nineteen year old body.

"Stop Laughing!" Dia whines as they make their way towards the pack house.

"Well now that you are here I must warn you; Alpha Ren will be in pack house all day as there's a meeting with the Alpha of Shadow pack. And I'm sure our Alpha won't be very happy with you being here at this time. You know how he despises your presence here." Dia warns and turns to try and gauge her friends reaction but fails like always.

Dia isn't unfamiliar with her tactics.

Ava always has been a tough cookie and hard to decipher kind of a girl. It's hard to know her real nature. Bi-polar is a word created for her. Maybe she is exaggerating a bit; but Ava is cheerful one minute and completely serious the next. One can never guess her reaction.

"So you mean to say that Alpha Ren is meeting with Alpha Elias?" Ava questions quickly, hiding the hurt behind her thinking face but Dia notices that and she knows that it hurts her that Alpha Ren can't accept Ava as his pack member.

She feels the fury building inside her at this thought but she knows she can't do anything for it.

She simply nods and they both walk ahead towards the nearing pack house.

As Ava walks inside the pack house, a familiar scent engulfs her; Rachel.

Rachel comes out smiling as she hugs Ava tightly and kisses her on her forehead. Ava is in bliss. To Ava Rachel is, both her father and mother combined in one and she is her only family. Though Ava remembers nothing about her biological parents, she remembers a little about her childhood. And that is that Rachel kept Ava with her, trained and taught her everything she knows today.

She have never been legally adopted and she had no idea why but she was fine with it as long as she got to stay with Rachel.

"Alpha Ren is busy in a meeting, he won't notice your presence" Rachel informs sensing the inner turmoil Ava is feeling, making Ava smile. Ava feels grateful to the moon goddess that she has Rachel in her life.

Rachel is in her early fifties and Dia is her daughter. Rachel met Ava in woods when she was small and all Ava knows is that Rachel immediately felt a pull and decided to keep Ava with her. She knows that even Rachel knew nothing about her biological parents or about her original pack but Rachel fought with everyone and kept Ava with her. And when Ava turned 16 and shifted the first time, Alpha Ren ordered her to leave the pack. No one knows why? And it is still a mystery to everyone, but no one dared to question their Alpha's decision. Since then, Ava became a rogue no longer a member of the Sun pack.

The day was spent well contrary to what Ava had expected. She met all her old friends and people dear to her. The day passed by in a blur as they shopped, ate and went for run together after a long time.

Suddenly a fear settled inside Ava, she felt as if it was not possible to leave the pack this time without any problem. 'She is probably the trouble attracting magnet and For the first time in her life, her day went normal in Sun pack.' Ava thought.

Ava knew, she never got permission to stay in the pack for more than 24 hours. So Ava walked towards the door of the pack house with the intention of leaving. But before she can leave, an irresistible scent engulfed the atmosphere and she turned around towards the source of the scent.

Alpha Ren, his Beta and two other men were coming towards her. But what caught her attention was the man beside Alpha Ren. Dressed impeccably in a white undershirt and a grey shirt over it with body fit dark blue jeans, he stood there with an aura of confidence and power.

Though Alpha Ren was visibly irritated by her presence, but the man beside him had another emotion on his face. Tall, tanned skin, heavily build body and captivating bluish-green eyes which were fixed directly on Ava and his next words were what changed Ava's life completely.

Elias had a hectic day.

Firstly his pack problems, then the rogue's attacks were increasing day by day and lastly he had an important meeting with Alpha Ren of the Sun Pack.

It was about the increase in Rogue attacks and to form an alliance against the rogues. The hate for rogues isn't new, every Alpha hates rogues. They are vile and irresponsible creatures and their one and only mission are to take down the Alpha of respective packs.

The only reason he had agreed to form alliance with the Sun pack is because they are the second strongest pack making his pack on the top as strongest pack.

The meeting was very tiring as it took him lot of time to convince Alpha Ren to allow the entry of his pack members in Sun Pack. It was necessary because in order to form alliances two pack must know each other well. But Alpha Ren wouldn't budge at first.

As the meeting came to an end, they walked towards the door and came face to face with someone. A certain someone he thought wasn't made for him.

'She must be nineteen or twenty' he thought as he surveyed her body. With a perfect complexion skin and hazel brown eyes she stood in front of him dressed in a simple black jeans and cream shirt, her expression same as his; surprised.

He never thought he would find his mate, but her scent alone made his wolf leap in joy and urged him to walk towards his mate and pull her in his arms.

And the word left his mouth involuntary as he claimed her as his.

"Mine" he growled.

Ava looked up at her mate with confusion and surprise masking her face. She knew well enough not to give up her freedom for her mate. So without thinking for another moment Ava ran. She ran away from her mate, ran away from her barrier and away from her Cage.

'She knew her mate won't give her the freedom she wants, especially the Alpha of shadow pack. He is known to be a cold and calculative person, a born devil.

Being a rogue she wished for her freedom, but not for herself. She has her reasons. She can't have a mate. She has responsibilities. She knows well that, she cannot burden her mate with her responsibilities. Also she does not expect her mate to understand her. As much as her wolf wanted her mate, she knew that in her life she can't have a mate. With everything going on in her life, she just can't' Ava thought.

But maybe fate decided something else for her. Another wolf ran up behind her breaking her from her chain of thoughts.

From the size of the wolf she understood it is her mate the Alpha of shadow pack. Her mate being a huge grey wolf almost like her silvery white wolf made her proud. Her wolf purred happily at his presence and took over the control.

Ava's wolf stopped running and walked towards her mate licking his neck. The grey wolf however was still under control and he stepped away and shifted quickly sliding up his jeans.

It was then Ava realized that she was surrounded and she knew better, than to run away this time.
