Darren's POV
Safe... she felt safe. Something has changed. She is calm now, but still in pain. "Your two minutes are up," Astro barked at me. "Let's go!"
"Let me check with Mom," I told him. He knew we couldn't just leave.
"Fine," he grumbled.
I felt him pull back a bit. "Mom, I need to check on my mate. She's in pain," I told her.
"Go. I've got this," she responded quickly.
"Thank you," I said, breathing a sigh of relief.
I headed in the direction I felt her. After a few moments, I slowed to smell for her. She felt as though she were moving away and fast. Someone must be moving her. Friend or foe?
"Faster!" Astro urged me to move faster.
