The world slowly came into focus. I blinked a few times, trying to figure out where I was. Warm. Something next to me was so warm. I turned my head to see it wasn’t something, but someone. Someone so special, Darren. “You’re awake,” he said as he smiled down at me.
“I am.” I grinned up at him.
“How are you feeling?” he asked as he moved ever so slightly giving me more space on the bed.
“Better,” I said with a yawn. “How long have I been here, like this?”
“Maybe half a day,” he responded.
“And you’ve been stuck in this position for that long?” I worried.
“Not stuck,” he chuckled. “More like happily holding onto my mate for half a day.”
