The Strong One

Episode 6

Diego’s POV

Just like any other day I woke up and got ready taking a shower, getting dressed and having breakfast but the day took a turn when i received an unexpected call.

“Hello.” I answered the call.

“Hello Diego this is Oliver (Olly) speaking, I was told that you were looking for a space to complete your training at, right now everything has been calm so my second in command reminded me that we can take someone on however the problem is that there is another gang member who wants their son to train with us and if we don’t have the place filled up in the next day we will have to accept him here and you would have to find somewhere else.” Oliver explained.

“It would be an honor to learn from you but I can’t leave yet Alex’s birthday is in 4 days.” I said panicked.

“I know and I had thought of that already and I don’t want to upset my niece however this is a fantastic opportunity for you and if you don’t take it now I will have to give it away.” He told me.

“Can I have some time to think about it?” I asked completely clueless on how I would break it to Alex.

“You can have 3 hours I need your answer straight after that and if you agree I will send my private jet to pick you up.” Oliver said then hung up.

Crap, what the f**k am I going to do, I can’t just leave Alex but she also knows the time would come when we would both leave separately however I’m just leaving a little earlier than planned but anyway in a couple of weeks she will probably go somewhere too.

I decided to make my way to Alex’s house trying to figure out how I was going to break it to her.

Alex’s POV

I was training in the home gym when mum called me saying Diego was here and was waiting for me so I picked up a towel dried the sweat off my forehead and made my way.

“Hiya.” I said going over to Diego and giving him a hug.

“Hey.” He said kinda plainly, I decided not to push him even though I know he’s hiding something but I will be a good person for once and let him tell me himself.

“Wanna watch a movie? I have been wanting to watch “tangled.” I said pulling him with me to the movie room.

He didn’t say anything and came with me, as we sat down he pulled me towards him, hugging me and kissing my forehead and saying he loves me and he did it without hiding or being worried that my parents would notice which I found extremely odd but I love to be in his embrace so I didn’t care, tangled was over we watched another movie but all I remember from it was half the movie as soon I fell asleep with my head on Diego’s chest.

Diego’s POV

It’s hard to think I’m going to leave her and only come back when she’s ready to step up which can be in years for all I know, but I know I’m never going to stop loving her, I was about to tell her I was leaving when I realised the time Oliver gave me was nearly up but then I saw her peaceful face fast asleep and I decided to kiss her cheek and then wrote a note and left her it next to her phone.

I made my way home and when I got home i called Oliver and told him I would take his offer and he said he already sent his private jet to pick me up so I would have a couple of hours to pack and say goodbye.

It was hard to say bye to my father but I know he understands, I then made my way to the airport but not forgetting to give my father the present I bought Alex for her birthday.

Alex’s POV

When I woke up I realised the time it was already 8 o’clock at night, I also realised that Diego was nowhere to be found, I was tapping my phone away when a sticky note caught my attention, it was stuck on the back of my phone, I started reading it and tears started falling out of my eyes,

Dear Alex,

You know the time where we would go our separate ways for a while would come and I’m very sorry I’m not going to be there for your 16 but I love you now and forever and I hope you forgive me for not telling you this in person.

Love Diego.

He didn’t even need to specify where he was going it’s obvious it’s his training and yes I knew this time would come but I didn’t think it would be so soon.

I dried my eyes and made my way to my bedroom where I laid on my bed and felt my eyes slowly closing from exhaustion.
