Chicago is beautiful! Its exactly how I imagined it would feel like. strange? No. New. I'm in a taxi headed to Austin. We've been driving for the past 20 minutes since I landed. I can already tell my house is out of town according to the number of streets we've already passed . I sigh. I just thought I would be staying in those nice apartments in the middle of the city. We pass by this black neighbourhood with buildings full of beautiful graffiti and Food wrappers disposed everywhere. ew! Did I just see a guy freely walking with a gun tucked into his trousers? maybe he's a cop. Cops don't dress like 50 cent. I close my eyes. can't wait to get home and take a long nice bath. "we're here ma'am." "wait what?? Here??....here where?" I almost jump out of my seat. What the actual f**k !! "I said Austin " "Yeah and this is Austin." oh no. I take a deep breathe coz I'm pretty sure I'll need it to survive here.. This is the worst nightmare I've ever had. I watch the taxi drive away and I feel like running after it and going anywhere in the world but a black neighbourhood. Its not like you're the only white here dummy... that's a white lady too. She's on a wheel chair!! there's also a kid over there . Just shut up...you ain't even helping. **** It takes me a whole five minutes to get my things to the door. I'm still struggling with my broken suitcase when I hear footsteps approaching. I freak out. don't be a thief...please don't be a... "Hello?...." A warm welcoming voice says and I spin only to find a pretty lady smiling at me. she's in a blue plaid shirt and a pair of ripped booty short. Her hair is neatly braided and her lips ... look like she just made out with a bottle of olive oil. Jesus brain!!! Her lips are nicely glossed and her nails have clear polish on them.. She's pretty. "Oh hi...uh...uhm...I -" "do you need help settling in?" You bet I do. I nod with a tiny smile playing on my lips. She picks the big box and walks into the house. Its fully furnished and I thank God for that. My books go on the shelf in the living room. Spices go on the shelf in the kitchen. Clothes in the wardrobe. Shoes on the shoe rack. ..... and we're done. "Thank you.....-" "Kira...Kira Johnson....anytime...-" "Perrie Hunter." I smile and she smiles back. aaaaaawh.... you guys are disgusting. I walk her to the door where she hugs me and leaves. that wasn't bad after all... I think I'm gonna do just fine here.
