Damien sat at his desk, eyes narrowed and fists clenched. Alex’s words hung in the air, thick and heavy. Eva and Alex out for lunch. He knew he had no claim over her, not officially, but the thought of Alex waltzing in, making her laugh, and using that effortless charm to win her over made his blood boil. "You know, Damien," Talia’s voice cut through his thoughts, silky and calculated. "You don’t have to let Alex keep walking all over you like that. We could grab lunch too, clear your head."
