Voice from the Kitchen: (playful) You're going to suffer for this, you know. Sarah: (smiling) Don't worry; I promise to make another batch just for you. Just as they continue chatting, a figure steps out of the kitchen, and they all get a surprise. Figure from the Kitchen: (surprised) Who's this voice I'm hearing? Sarah also turns, her smile fading into astonishment. And there, standing in the kitchen's entrance, is DAVID. The unexpected reunion leaves them all in a state of surprise, with Sarah and David facing each other, both seemingly shocked at this unplanned encounter. David: (in shock) Harrington? Sarah: (equally surprised) Anders? The brother, still puzzled, looks back and forth between them. Daniel: (confused) What's going on? Sarah: (curious) David, is Daniel actually your brother? David: (curt) Half-brother. Sarah: (nonchalant) I see. And how did Daniel here come to know me? David: (with a smirk) Small world, isn't it? But I believe the question is, how did you come to know Daniel? Author's Note:The atmosphere is charged with surprise and a touch of tension as the connections between the characters become clear. The pride and rudeness of both Sarah and David remain intact, adding an intriguing twist to the story. Daniel: [Interrupting the argument] Hold on, you two. Let me clarify. David isn't my half-brother; he's my actual brother. And Sarah, he's our neighbor, the daughter of the woman we met yesterday. She was incredibly nice and welcoming to us. Sarah: [Surprised] Your... your brother? David: [Equally surprised] Sarah's the neighbor? This revelation leaves Sarah and David stunned as they absorb the unexpected connection between them. The tension in the room begins to ease as they come to terms with this revelation. Daniel: [Nodding] That's the truth, and you both have to accept it. Now, tell me, how do you two know each other, and why are you so bitter toward each other? Sarah and David begin to explain, but their explanations lead to an argument: Sarah: [Explain her perspective] Well, I think he is a snobbish, arrogant guy who cares more about his image than anything else. David: [Defending himself] Hold on, I wasn't being arrogant; I just prefer to keep a low profile. Sarah: [Interrupting] Low profile? More like a disguise. David: [Defensive] I'm not disguising myself; I just didn't want my background to overshadow everything else. The argument escalates as they both defend their actions and try to clarify their intentions to Daniel, who watches the heated exchange with amusement. Sarah: [Explaining] He acted like he was some undercover celebrity, all mysterious and enigmatic David: [Defending] I wasn't trying to be mysterious, just... discreet. Sarah: [Skeptical] Discreet, my foot. You looked like you were hiding something. David: [Annoyed] I had to, Sarah. My background... it's complicated. Sarah: [Defensive] I don't care about your background. I care about you pretending to be someone you're not. Their argument escalates, with each of them vehemently defending their own perspective and neither willing to yield to the other's point of view. Daniel, now thoroughly amused by their heated exchange, watches with a hint of a smile. Daniel: [Interjecting] Alright, alright, calm down, you two. Now, tell me how you met and who was rude first. Sarah and David, though still a bit irritated with each other, explain their initial meeting: Sarah: [Explaining her perspective] We bumped into each other in the hallway at Crestview University. He acted like he owned the place. David: [Defending himself] That's not true! You were in such a hurry you nearly ran me over, and you gave me an earful about being in your way. Sarah: [Irritated] Because you were blocking the whole hallway! David: [Annoyed] I was trying to get to class. Their explanations reveal the clash of their perspectives on their first encounter, with neither willing to concede that they might have been at fault. Daniel continues to listen, his amusement growing. Continuing the conversation, Sarah and David explain how they found each other rude while they were in class. As they recount their experiences, Daniel comes to the realization that they are classmates, and it dawns on him that Sarah was referring to David in their previous conversation. He asks her a crucial question: Daniel: [Realization dawning] Wait a minute... you two are classmates, aren't you? Sarah, was David the classmate you mentioned earlier? Sarah: [Surprised] Yes, he is, but... Daniel: [Interrupting] So, does this mean you won't be attending the party anymore? Sarah hesitates for a moment, unsure of how to respond, and David watches with a mix of curiosity and uncertainty. In response to Daniel's question, Sarah hesitates before firmly expressing her decision: Sarah: [Resolute] I don't want to attend David's party, and now that I know he's your brother, I won't be attending yours either. Daniel:[trying to convince her)You should come you'll be a great addition to the party, you have a very great energy I'm pretty sure you'll be the life of the party plus you are David's classmates so it would only look good if you come, and if you come I'll know atleast one person in the party who I can talk to whenever I'm bored, so please come and remember you made me I promise that you were going to come and a promise is a promise and you know Haringnton's never break their promise,so Sarah you have to come David: [Interjecting] You know what? Don't beg her, Daniel. She's not needed at my party anyway, it's not as if she's that pretty that we would beg to attend and she isn't even a princess, her fashion since isn't even that impressive that we would say we need her fashion statement in the party, and no she wouldn't be the life of the party cause she's a very bad dancer and moreover it won't look good on us to have such a bad guest in our party you know there would be media presence. Sarah's anger flares, and she's visibly offended by David's comment. She abruptly stands up, storms out of their house, and slams the door behind her, leaving Daniel and David in awkward silence. In the aftermath of Sarah's departure, Daniel turns to his brother, questioning his actions: Daniel: [Concerned] David, why did you say that? She's our guest, and you spoke too harshly. Our parents always taught us to respect our guests. David: [Slightly regretful] I didn't mean to, but... she was so insistent. I thought she wouldn't want to come, and I was saving her the trouble. Daniel doesn't seem entirely convinced by David's explanation, and the tension lingers as they both wonder about the consequences of their heated exchange. Sarah returns home after her unexpected visit to her new neighbors' house, her mother's initial excitement fading as she notices the troubled expression on her daughter's face. Two hours have passed since Sarah's departure, and it's clear that something has soured her mood. Her mother decides to gently inquire about the cause of her unease. Sarah's Mom: [Worried] Sarah, dear, what's the matter? You seemed happy when you left. How did your visit go? Sarah explains to her mom how her visit started off on a positive note when she thought Daniel was the new neighbor her mom had mentioned, not knowing there were two of them. She describes the kindness and camaraderie she shared with Daniel, detailing their laughter and shared jokes. However, her tone shifts as she recounts how everything changed when David entered the scene, the atmosphere becoming tense and uncomfortable. Her mother, intrigued by the story, asks her daughter how she knew David. Sarah then elaborates on how David turned out to be a new student at her school. She goes on to explain that David's rudeness extended from school to their home, causing tension and making her realize that he was the very student her mother had been describing with admiration when she returned from school earlier. Her mother appears surprised by the revelation and concerned about the situation. As her mother tries to console her and suggests that perhaps they had a rough start and Sarah would grow to like David in time, Sarah becomes frustrated. She questions why her mother would support a stranger over her own daughter. Their conversation is suddenly interrupted by the doorbell ringing, diverting their attention from the heated exchange. Butler: [Interacting with the visitor] Good evening, sir. Please, come in. [The butler's smile and friendly conversation with the visitor continue for a brief moment.] Sarah: [Whispering to her mom] Who could be making Jenkins smile like that? Sarah's Mom: [Whispering back] I have no idea, but it must be someone special. He said sir so it has to be a man had it been a lady then we're definitely getting Jenkins married today Sarah laughs to her mom's joke [The visitor steps into the living room, revealing himself as David.] Sarah: [A bit surprised] Speak of the devil, and he would appear. Sarah's Mom: [Chiding] Sarah, don't say such things. [Addressing David] Welcome, David. Please, have a seat. David: [Complimenting Sarah's mom] Mum, you look absolutely stunning in that dress. Your beauty is truly to die for. It's as if you're in your prime. Sarah's Mom: [Flattered] Thank you, David. You're too kind. You can call me your second mum. Sarah: [Angrily] I know the number of children my father gave birth to, and as far as I can remember, it's just one, which is me by the way.[turning to David] David, you're quite the people pleaser. First, it was Jenkins, and now you're charming my mum. You should work on being more subtle. Sarah's comment carries a tone of frustration and anger, setting a different mood in the room. Sarah's Mom: [Advising Sarah] Sarah, stop being rude. Sarah's Mom: [Addressing David] What brings you here, my son? David: [Explaining] Mum, your forgetful daughter left her phone at my house. Being the great person that I am, I brought it back. It's been ringing off the hook since she left. Sarah's Mom: [Appreciative] That's so kind of you, my son. Sarah, irritated by the situation, abruptly walks up to David, snatches her phone from his hand, and sarcastically says "thank you" before walking out on them, leaving David and her mom in an awkward moment. As Sarah leaves the living room, she sneaks into the kitchen to eavesdrop on her mom and David's conversation. She overhears her mom apologizing to David on her behalf. David, being understanding, responds with kindness. Sarah's Mom: [Apologizing] I'm sorry for Sarah's behavior. She probably got annoyed because of the way I said it. David: [Understanding] It's okay, don't worry. I might have come across a bit too strong. I'll talk to her. Sarah, hidden in the kitchen, silently thinks to herself, "Look at him trying to be understanding, what a fool," clearly unimpressed by David's attempts to smooth things over. From her vantage point, she observes her mom and David catching up like they've been friends for a long time, further fueling her frustration. Sarah's Mom: [Asking] What would you like to have, my son? David: [Polite] I'll be leaving soon, so I don't need anything. Sarah's Mom: [Insisting] No one comes to the Harrington's house and leaves without having something. I'll get you some cookies and juice. David: [Grateful] You're so kind. If you insist, I have no choice but to agree. Plus, I didn't get to taste the ones Sarah brought. Sarah, still watching from the kitchen, scoffs at the situation. She mutters to herself, "Now this jerk is even going to taste her cookies and her amazing juice, which she made the recipe for herself," her annoyance growing as she observes her mom's hospitality towards David. As Sarah hides behind the refrigerator, her mom enters the kitchen. She takes a jug of juice from the refrigerator, grabs a glass, and places a cookie on a cute little dish. Sarah watches as her mom prepares a snack for David, and she can't help but wonder why her mom is going to all this trouble herself when they have plenty of household staff who could do it. Sarah begins to suspect that her mom might like David a little too much, fueling her irritation even further. David: [Impressed] These cookies are divine! I'm really interested in knowing which of your chefs made them. Sarah's Mom: [Revealing] Actually, Sarah made them. It's her secret recipe. Although I like to call it mine after all, I am the one that gave birth to Sarah. David is pleasantly surprised by the revelation and continues to enjoy the delicious cookies. Sarah's mom is clearly proud of her daughter's culinary skills, emphasizing the connection between Sarah and the cookies, which adds to Sarah's annoyance as she listens from the kitchen. Daniel: [Tasting the juice] Is this also Sarah's creation? It's heavenly. Sarah's Mom: [Proudly] Yes, Sarah made that too. She has a lot of recipes, and she makes most of her food herself. The cooks only help out when she travels. David: [Interested] That's interesting. I also have great culinary skills. Sarah's Mom: [Enthusiastic] That's wonderful! Perhaps you two should host a cooking and baking showdown. As Sarah listens from her hiding place, her mom is already planning for a cooking and baking competition between David and Sarah, unaware of the tension between the two. Sarah's irritation continues to grow. David: It's a great idea, but I think the two of us would have to get along first. Sarah's Mom: [Optimistic] Oh, that's not a problem at all. My daughter is very sweet, and I'm sure you are too. It's just that you both started on the wrong foot. David: [Smiling] I look forward to that. Sarah's Mom: [Curious] By the way, would Sarah be coming to your party tonight? David, with a warm smile, expresses his willingness to participate in the cooking and baking showdown with Sarah. Then, Sarah's mom inquires about Sarah's attendance at David's party later that night, sparking further tension and uncertainty. David: Well, Mum, I don't think she'll be coming. She already told my brother she wouldn't, and I'm afraid I got on her nerves today. My brother wouldn't forgive me if she doesn't show up. She's the only friend he's made in a long time, although I don't particularly like her, I can tolerate her for my brother's sake. Plus, she actually promised my brother she'd come Sarah's Mom: [Chuckles] Oh well, when Sarah makes up her mind, there's no going back. Although Harington's don't usually break their promises, I think, for the first time, a Harington will. Author's Note:This conversation highlights the uncertainty of Sarah's attendance at the party and adds intrigue to the upcoming event. David: Oh no, what will I do now? My brother is the only family I have, and I don't want to lose him because of my childish behavior. Can you talk to her on my behalf? Sarah's Mom: I'll try, but I doubt she'll agree. She doesn't like going where she's not wanted, and it's clear you don't want her there. Above all, she hates embarrassment, which you did. David: Okay, Mom, please try to convince her for me. I'll be very glad if she attends for my brother's sake. In fact, she can ruin the party if she pleases, all I need is her presence. Sarah's Mom: I'll try my best, my son. But even if she doesn't come, enjoy yourself and have a blast. After all, it's your first party in Willowbrook. David: Thank you. David then bids Sarah's mom goodbye and leaves, eagerly anticipating the party and hoping that Sarah will decide to attend. Author's Note:With this, the conversation ends, leaving the possibility of Sarah attending David's party hanging in the balance, and it provides insight into David's wish for his brother's happiness and a sense of camaraderie. After David's departure, Sarah's mom waits for the right moment to address her daughter, knowing that she's been eavesdropping on the entire conversation. She had noticed her daughter's eavesdropping habits for some time, and now it's time to confront her. Sarah's Mom: (smiling) Sarah, come out of your hiding spot. I know you're there. Sarah: (surprised) How did you know I was there? Sarah's Mom: (concerned) When did you start eavesdropping, my dear? Is this how you were trained? No one ever stopped you from listening, so why resort to eavesdropping? Sarah: (apologetic) Mom, I'm really sorry. I just felt that if I stayed there, I'd keep on being rude to him and interrupting him. So, I thought it would be better to hide and listen. Sarah's Mom: (understanding) It's okay, my dear, but don't try it again next time. It's not a good habit to eavesdrop on others. Sarah: Okay, Mom. Sarah's Mom:(reminding her) Since you heard the entire conversation, you already know how much David wants you to come for the party because of his brother, and moreover, you already promised to come. Sarah: (apologetic) Mom, I really want to go because of Daniel, but I wouldn't be able to go because I've already promised a friend that I would come.her party in which she's also hosting tonight, and I just remembered, so I wouldn't be able to go to David's party again. Sarah's Mom: (understanding) It's okay, dear. You can go to your friend's party. I've actually been thinking about going on a short trip this evening, and I'll be back the tommorow's afternoon. Enjoy yourself! Sarah and her mom both leave the living room to get ready for where they're going When Sarah's mom was done packing and ready to go she called one of the Butler to carry her bag for her while she walked to the car she was about to enter the car when she felt it was necessary for her to call David to inform him that Sarah wouldn't be attending the party so he wouldn't spend all his time waiting for her arrival, she picks up her phone and dials bright phone number, in which he picks up almost immediately as if he was already expecting her call Sarah's Mom: (on the phone) Hello, David. It's Sarah's mom here. I wanted to let you know that Sarah won't be able to make it to your party tonight. She had initially promised to attend, but there's been a change in her plans. David: (curious) I understand, things can change. Can you tell me more about it? Sarah's Mom: (apologetic) Of course. She made a prior commitment to a close friend and only just remembered. She doesn't want to let her friend down. David: (understanding) I see. Well, my brother will miss her at the party, but personal commitments are important. Sarah's Mom: (grateful) Thank you for being so understanding, David. We appreciate it,I promise she'll make it up to you David: (appreciative) Not a problem at all, Sarah's mom. Thanks for letting me know. We'll make sure to have a fantastic time tonight. Sarah calls her Dad on the phone: Sarah: (playfully) Hello, old man. Dad: (fondly) Hello, my young and beautiful princess. To what do I owe the pleasure of this rare call? Sarah: (grinning) Well, old man, I need your help with something, and you know if you don't help me, no one will. Dad: (curious) What's going on, my dear? You never ask for help with these kinds of things. Sarah: (jokingly) Ah, I've got a surprise for you tonight. I want to attend a party. Dad: (incredulous) You? Attending a party? Who are you, and what have you done to my princess? She never goes to parties. Sarah: (laughing) I know, right? But it's a special occasion, and I need your female assistance for the night. Dad: (teasingly) Alright, my princess. Sarah: (appreciative) Thanks, old man. You're a lifesaver! Dad: (affectionate) Anything for my princess. I'll be there in the next 30 minutes. You better be ready to look like a superstar. Sarah: (excited) You're the best, Dad. I knew I could count on you. Dad: (proudly) That's what Dads are for. we'll make sure you shine tonight. Sarah: (grinning) Thanks, old man. I love you. Dad: (warmly) Love you too, my young and beautiful princess. They exchange affectionate goodbyes and prepare for her dad and his female assistant arrival to help Sarah get ready for the party. After her call with her dad, Sarah went to freshen up and eagerly awaited their arrival to help her get ready for the party. As expected, they arrived right on time, and Sarah couldn't be happier to see her father and his capable assistant. They immediately delved into a lively discussion about her look for the night. Sarah expressed her desire to wear a dress from the latest collection of the town's best fashion designer. However, her dad's assistant had a different suggestion, prompting Sarah to inquire. Her dad then revealed a delightful surprise, explaining that they were opening a fashion boutique, and he had designed some of the pieces himself. He suggested she could be the first to wear one of their new creations, ensuring she'd stand out at the party. Sarah's dad excitedly unveiled some of the designs he had created, and Sarah found herself in a dilemma. All the designs were outstanding, making it tough to choose. Her father's assistant swiftly arranged for a call to the makeup artist and hairstylist. Sarah insisted on having the absolute best professionals for her makeover, as this was her first party appearance, and she was determined to make a memorable impression. Her dad wholeheartedly supported her decision, and the assistant promptly contacted the desired hair and makeup artists. However, there was a snag – they were already booked for the night. Sarah was undeterred and offered to pay them three times their standard fee to secure their services, promising it wouldn't take much of their time. The makeup artist: You know, I almost feel guilty putting makeup on you because your natural beauty is absolutely captivating. Honestly, in a room full of art, I'd still be staring at you.
