For weeks now he had avoided mirrors and newspapers, staying clear of anything that would remind him of the sky press that he once ruled or the headlines that once worshipped him. ‎ ‎ But this morning as the storm cleared and sunlight risen streaming through the window of his small house. ‎ ‎ Something trouble inside of him. Today felt different. ‎It had been four months now since Alex disappeared from Grey Enterprises, four months since he walked away from power, privilege, and betrayed ‎ ‎ He had come to the small town to seek peace perhaps, maybe forgiveness from others but mostly from himself he did not expect to find love in the eyes of a woman who knew nothing about his wealth or last name. Ama had changed everything. ‎ ‎Ama was simple honest and strick in the way she lived. She ran local bookshop and raised her younger brother James after their parents died she is heart broken and hard work and that made her compassion even more powerful. ‎ Alex who is Liam to her had met her on his second day in town, when he helped James fix a broken bicycle chain from then on they both lives quietly. ‎ ‎But as much as he loved her so much he had lived every day with a shadow in his chest. ‎ A lie She did not know who he really was, Every moment he spent with her added weight to the guilty pressing on his face. ‎ ‎ How could love be true if built on a foundation of secrets? ‎ ‎That very morning Alex stood in front of the bathroom mirror. For the first time in months for now he faced himself very honestly, his beard was thick, his eyes looking very tired but clearer. ‎ He did not look like the CEO the whole world once knew. He looked like a man who had loved, lost, and wanted to make ‎Amend right. ‎Later that afternoon Alex found Ama in the store, her sketching book balance on her knees while she was so relaxing, enjoying the wind blowing around and her hair flying across her face. ‎ ‎She smiled when she saw him with that same soft knowing same smile of her. ‎ ‎You look serious she said gently as he sat beside her on the sand. ‎ ‎There’s something I need to tell you he began while his voice tightly shaking something I should have told you from the on set. ‎Her eyes narrow slightly but she nodded her head given him courage to continue. ‎ ‎I’m not Liam Carter. ‎My real name is Alex Grey I was the CEO of a major company in New York I left there after things went wrong. There are betrayals, lies, then I realized I did not recognize the man I had become. ‎ ‎Ama’s fingers still on her sketch pad. So everything you told me about your past was not true? She ask. ‎ ‎Only the name and the job he said, pleading with his eyes contact with Ama but everything else the time we spent together, the way I feel about you is real. ‎You helped me remember who I really was. ‎Not the CEO, not the title. Just me. ‎ ‎She looked away toward the crashed wave with silence. ‎I trusted you she said softly I opened my heart to you, Liam, Alex. ‎And now I don’t know what was real. ‎ ‎Alex’s heart was tightly disturb. He try to hold f her hand but she pulled it away. ‎ ‎I understand he said, swallowing hard I just needed you to know the truth. I will leave if you want me to but I will never stop loving you. ‎Ama did not speak to him for a week more than. ‎ ‎Each day feel like a slow punishment a reminder of the cost of lies. But Alex did not leave town, he did not hide instead he showed up every day at the book store, not to win her back with gestures to win her but to help shelving, arrange the books, fixing a broken window, reading to James after school. ‎ ‎He was not trying to be a hero he was trying to be honest And slowly, Ama saw the change. ‎ ‎One evening as the sun going dip into the sea she found him sitting on the bounch of the bookstore. ‎ James shifted up next to him with a book in his lap they looked peaceful. ‎ ‎You did not run she said, her voice softer now. ‎ ‎I ran before he replied meeting her eyes. I left my world because it broke me. But I won’t run from this not from you. ‎ ‎Ama sat beside him. There was a long pause before she whisper I loved the man you were with me., Not the CEO, not the suit. ‎Just the man who held my hand in the market who cried when he heard my brother sing. ‎ ‎Alex smiled faintly that is the man I want to be with. If you will still have me. ‎ ‎She looked at him really looked at him and finally took his hand. ‎ ‎I’m not saying it will be easy, she said but I believe in second chances and I believe in you. ‎ ‎Several months gone and spring of water arrived jumping so bright taking collective of flower and trees all round, ‎It is warmer days. Alex’s truth was no longer a surprise but a scary visible one but it's healed. He had built a new life not by running from the past but by embracing who the truth of who he was. Ama was the heart of that new life. ‎One quiet peaceful morning Alex knelt down by the ocean’s edge, the place where everything all began for them. ‎ ‎Along with him was a small velvet box his hands vibrating from a feeling of fear. ‎ ‎Ama Had him saying and his voice with steady. You taught me what real love looks like, undeserved and unconditional. Will you marry me and make this forever? ‎ ‎ ‎Tears welled in her eyes and she nodded and a smile breaking through. ‎Yes, I will marry you she whispered, Forever. ‎ ‎ ‎And so, the man once known for boardroom battles and billion dollar deals became known for something greater, heart redeemed a love earned, and a forever chosen. ‎
