Sealing the Portals III

It was about a few more hours before night came that something about the surroundings ang the people of the village changed.

'Are those wild beasts?'

It was the first time that she saw something like this. The whole place is suddenly filled with wild beasts— nope, it isn't the same ones as the dark beasts that came out of those portals.

It was more like an ordinary animals that can be found in a completely magicless worlds like Gaia, such as: lions, bears, tigers, wolves, and etcetera. The only difference is that the ones that can be found in this world is about twice or thrice larger and they are more intelligent.

"What the?" Eloise was weirded out by how the townspeople served and treated those beasts with obvious respect.

Tons of fruits, meat, and other foods can be seen being served. And she only noticed now, but a huge statue of a lion made of wood can be seen from her cell.

She knitted her eyebrows, "Wait a minute, that's unfair! They serve all those foods to beasts but not a single bread to me?"

Everything was looked weird for her, the way these people are acting, it feels as though they are serving the animals.

In fact, the tribe that took Eloise is a tribe that worships the beasts and treats them as their god and protectors.

'Maybe I should just kill them all.'

Night finally came. The whole place was now more quiet, the only source of light are the moon and stars as well as the few lights around the village.

It was finally time for her to escape without being seen.

'Hmm? What's that? '

A sudden surge of mana can be felt a few meters away from her.

'This...'

"Of sh!t..." In an instant, her body turned into smoke then she reappeared outside of the cell.

"Tu--! Quomudo effugiste?!"

( English translation:"You--! How did you got out?!" )

"F.ck!n' language barrier." she flicked her hands and the next moment, the guy was already fast asleep while lying on the ground.

Eloise closed her eyes, numerous stings of light is created in an instant. As she opened her glowing eyes, the strings immediately stretched and reached each part of the village.

From afar, it looked like a pretty wave of light was happening below ground. But this phenomena caused quite a different effect on the villagers, everyone was stunned. Then, when shock left their body, fear followed.

"Quid agitur?"

( English translation:"What is happening?!" )

"Qvid est hoc?!"

( English translation:"What is this?!" )

"C'mon... Where is it?"

"Found it!" The moment that she found the source of the unknown source of mana that she traced, a scream erupted.

"Ahhh! A-Adiuva!"

( English translation: "Ahhh! H-Help!" )

"Of all places---tsk!" Eloise immediately ran towards the direction of the scream.

Just a moment ago, as she was about to escape, she felt the familiar energy of a portal opening somewhere near her.

"This village will be done for if this go on." she turned into black smoke, then reappeared in front of the portal surrounded by Khra'gixx.

( KHRA'GIXX: Monsters that feeds on flesh and blood. It has the appearance of a giant rat, it has metal claws and b****y red eyes. )

"Grargh!"

In an instant, the monsters started to spread all throughout the village.

The beasts residing along the villagers started and tried to put up a fight despite being weaker and less intelligent that the rat-like krah'gixx.

"Protege Infantes!" A loud voice suddenly echoed amidst the screams

Then, in an instant, men and women alike started fighting off the monsters with their spears, axes, swords, and even arrows.

On the other hand, Eloise has a problematic problem.

"Why the he---" her eyebrows are almost meets as she continuously tried to seal the portal with her power, but to no avail.

Sharp blades made of light and dark shadows are being thrown everywhere hunting and killing off the monsters.

But since the portal is still open, new ones just continue on coming out of it.

"This is---ouch fvck!" Since she was too focused and annoyed at the portal, she completely forgot to cover herself with a barrier, and now, one of the friggin' monsters has its teeth deep within her leg's flesh. She kicked it off and killed it with a light blade.

"It's no longer funny!" as soon as she said that, a loud boom erupted and a concentrated light hit the portal, finally destroying it.

In an instant, a sword made up of light materialized on her hands.

Eloise started killing all the monsters near her like a madwoman. Blood splattered everywhere and dozens of dark strings stabbed each monsters it could detect.

Then, there was suddenly a rain of light that heals the villagers as soon as it touches them. A barrier was also created from the same raindrops, protecting them.

It is an unbelievable sight. One that you would only see in books. A story of a hero singlehandedly defeating hundreds of monsters with her immense powers, while protecting the people at the same time.

The villagers admired the beautiful yet cruel death of the monsters at the hands of a woman who emmits the brightest light, yet also carries the darkest shadows.

Then, when all of the khra'gixx has been eliminated, the blinding light disappears while the shadows merged with the darkness of the night.

The citizens stood in shock and watched in awe as the woman covered in blood, the hero who saved them all from the monsters, this mysterious being who they imprisoned without knowing...

...throws a tantrum.
