The heat of Draven’s body was a physical weight, pinning me against the mantel. His breath caressed my jawline, and for a terrifying, intoxicating second, I wanted to let the towel drop again. I wanted to give in to the violent demand of the bond. "Alpha!" A sharp, urgent knock shattered the tension in the room. The voice belonged to Lucas, Draven’s Beta. Draven didn’t move immediately. He squeezed his eyes shut, his jaw clenching so hard I heard the bone click as he forced his wolf back into its cage. When he opened his eyes, the pitch-black dilation had receded, leaving a turbulent, burning gold. He stepped back slowly, his hands dropping from the mantel, though his gaze remained fixed on my lips. "What?" Draven barked toward the door, his voice rough and laced with a lethal warning.
