Chapter Sixteen My heart pounded faster than it had before. I wasn't sure if it was because of how quickly we were moving through the compound, or because of the worry over what Seth had planned. I truly had no idea what would happen if his device actually worked and we ended up facing an enemy who could kill us. It completely changed the game. Once word of it got out, I wouldn't be surprised if more people defected to Seth's side too. They'd want to keep themselves safe, and I didn't blame them.
