ANITA’S POV
THREE DAYS LATER
I was yet to be discharged from the hospital, the doctor had advised that I should be placed under observations for another day, just to be sure I had gotten well enough to walk around.
Alexander had to step out for a while, saying he had a few things to handle and would be back.
I stayed in the hospital bed bored for what seems like hours before getting back into the room I was in.
He walks in without another man behind him and I frown not expecting any other person but just Alex.
“Here, sign it. It’s the contract for our fifty day marriage” He states handing me the file and I hesitantly collect it.
Opening the file and going through the terms written in the contract.
Not that I didn’t already know the terms, but I wanted to stall a little to help myself think this through properly.
What I was getting myself into and if it was the right thing for me at a time like this.
Don’t get me wrong….I want to ruin Jason’s life just as much as he ruined mine, but I-
You were never good enough Anita
You would be nothing without me Anita
His words interrupt my thoughts and I grab the pen and sign on the paper without thinking twice about it.
I would prove to him that I can be everything without him!
He stretches forth his hand in a bid to shake me and I collect it. “I hope our partnership is fruitful” He states and I nod.
“I hope our partnership is fruitful” I recount and he hands the contract to the man that had followed him into the room and I frown, looking between the both of them.
He senses my confusion and decides to explain.
“Malcom is my personal assistant, he works for me” He explains, but the frown doesn’t leave my face.
“Does he….?” I trail off.
“Yeah…but he is under a NDA so he can’t say anything. Isn’t that right Malcom?” He asks keeping his eyes on me.
“Yes sir” Malcolm responds politely and Alex nods.
“You may go now” He instructs Malcolm and he bows politely before walking out of the room.
“That’s it?” I squint my eyes turning my head to the side in question.
“Yeah” He nods.
“We are married?” I ask still not believing what just happened. For some reason I feel like a teenager on a drunken night or something.
“Why is it so hard to believe now…. Having seconds thoughts?” He frowns as he sits on the bedside.
“No….it just feels…. Kinda weird” I shrug, picking at my words.
“Well, you would have to get used to it….wife” He states with a smirk earning a chuckle from me.
“I guess I have to” I remark with a shrug.
A comfortable silence passes between us as I try to straighten my neck, relieving myself of the tension on it.
“So…I spoke to the doctor and I convinced him to discharge you today” He informs and my eyes light up.
“Really?” I squeal wide eyed.
“Yeah…I can tell you are tired of this place already and in addition, we have to go some place together” He adds and I squint my eyes giving him a suspicious look.
“Where are we going?” I ask
“You’ll see, but for now, let’s get you out of here” He states, rising to his feet as he takes a glance at his wristwatch.
I swing my leg off the bed, and he places a pair of shoes in front of me.
They don’t look like mine though. But I don’t question it, my shoes were probably ruined after the accident.
Anyone would blame my nonchalance at this point, but right now, I just want to get out of here.
He leads me to the doctors office, as the doctor goes over my daily routine and what precautions I should take, but I barely listened. I zone out five seconds into the conversation because I was getting tired of the terms used and the weird names my drugs had.
I realized I was in the VIP section of the hospital, Alex had paid for the whole floor, for some reason he didn’t want to share the floor with anybody.
I found it weird, and I was definitely going to question this one for sure.
We are out of the hospital in minutes, leading us to his car, and although I wasn’t a fan of luxury things like this, I would give it to him, he has a very good taste in cars.
The black Rolls Royce stood gallantly in the middle of the empty garage and I wondered if he booked the whole garage too.
He drives us to a cloth store and I frown.
“Is this where we were coming?” I ask
“Yes” He mutters, a little absentmindedly as he picks something from his breast pocket. He hands me a black card and I squint my eyes at it.
“You will be meeting my Mom anytime soon and I would need you to look the part” He adds and I nod.
“I’ll meet you inside in a few minutes, I need to park the car” He states and I frown.
“But I have really-“ My mouth forms an O shape as I realize.
“Yeah, “ He mutters under his breath and I climb out of the car, walking into the store
It sang luxury from top to bottom. Although I have been married to a billionaire before and I’m married to another one now, I still can’t get use to the fact that one could spend this much money on clothes.
One of the attendants approach me and for the next few hours, I was trying on so many clothes.
Alexander busied himself with a magazine, the switched to his phone at some point.
After six hours of making sure I picked the right clothes we were walking out of the store. I had worn a blue dress, reaching just above my knees, the dress hugging my figure in the right places and the hand design boosting my confidence.
It hung around my shoulders with it’s apparels failing down my hand to my wrist, like curtain.
“Ready to be my wife?” He asked, his charming gaze striking at me.
“Yes, Mr. Alexander Prescott,” I respond mirroring his smile as the car zooms off down the road.
