The next day, Kendra didn’t come home until late. As Alex pulled up to her house, he turned to her with a lazy smile, his fingers tracing soft circles on her knee. “Text me later?” he asked, his voice low, almost reluctant to let her go. Kendra smirked against his lips as she leaned in for one last kiss. “Okay,” she murmured before pulling away, grabbing her purse, and stepping out of the car.
