When I saw my mate calling, I couldn’t explain my excitement when I picked up. He said, “Go find the Alpha sister and call me back.” This gave me a weird feeling. I thought he was calling to see how I was doing, but instead, it was about their stupid plan. I went to find Maxine, found her in the kitchen, told her what Pierre said, grabbed my phone, and went with it, leaving me staring at her back.
