It's been 6 months since I came to the Baknor mansion. 6 months since the first night with Silas, and the last. Ever since the night of the welcome dinner, he has been avoiding me. I have even tried searching him out,
just to find out what was going on, but he won't even make eye contact. I sighed as I scrubbed the floor, I looked up at the window as the sun was setting. I promised myself when I was done I'd go outside and explore the garden. One thing I've learned about the Baknor's besides their odd behaviour is they treated everyone here extremely well. Even the employees where like family.
I stood up taking my dirty bucket to the sink and dumped it out before cleaning my mess up. I sighed and headed outside to the garden.
The smell of lilac hit my nose and made me grin. I touched the flower bushes and felt oddly calm. The wind blew and I stiffened catching that sweet scent again.
Silas.
My eyes caught his and widened as I seen him coming up the path. I stood frozen, feeling like if I stayed still he would forget I was there.
" Hazel." He said, stopping infront of me. I almost fell over, this was the first he had spoken to me in 6 months.
" Silas." I said, trying not to be rude.
" Listen Haze, I'm sorry." He said offering a very sincere apology. I nodded letting him know I forgave him, but unable to form words. I just couldn't understand him, he was all but ready to tear that guys throat out over me. Then he ignored me for months and now he apologizes!
" I'm sorry for disturbing you Silas, I must head in now." I said turning to walk back in, not before leaning down in front of a dying lilac flower. I touched it with my finger tips, causing it to spring to life.
What the hell was that? I thought to myself before rubbing my eyes. I must be so tired I'm seeing things. I shook my head before quickly heading inside.
