You Double Cross My Mind

It's been a few weeks since Silas told me his secret, a secret that must be protected for my own safety and his. By now everyone in the mansion knew we were sorta dating, but I kept working for them.

I've also noticed strange things happening.

The flowers seem to bloom brighter around me, animals seem to come to me easier and not stray away. I feel powerful. I blame it on love, I have my first love and that must make the world seem brighter to me.

I was finishing the dishes when Silas came into the room. I smiled while drying my hands before turning to him. I've seen him everyday for months and I still couldn't get over how gorgeous he was and how this man was all mine. He had a somber look on his face, not one I've seen often.

"Silas, whats wrong?" I said taking his hand into mine, I was worried about him.

"Hazel, I'm so so sorry, Jack knows and he told the government." I froze as soon as the words left his mouth. I knew what that meant from what Silas has told me.

it was a death sentence.

I knew the rules, and I as a human was breaking them. I knew they would kill me, and possibly Silas as well. Was my happy ending going to end before it even started.

"Hazel, Silas." Curtis said drawing our attention away from eachother.

" Yes brother." Silas said peeking back at him. I moved to his side while keeping on arm tightly around Silas's waist.

" We have a family meeting, please come." He said taking us down the hall, to a part of the house I have never even been too. We entered a huge room, that was filled with floor to ceiling bookshelves, the Baknor's were waiting for us along with my mom.

"Whats going on." I said, standing next to Silas, where I felt the most at peace. My mom looked scared as she faced me.

"Hazel, honey Im so sorry." She said.

"Mom whats wrong." I said, straying from Silas in order to reach her.

"I never planned to tell you ever, then you fell inlove with Silas, and I know he knew the rules so I figured he'd follow them and reject you like he's suppose to and we could live normal lives, but it seems fate has other plans." She said with a shaky voice. I still didn't understand it.

"Honey you belong to the underworld, your a secret fairy." She said.
