The sky soon darkened than it should. The air thickened, the heavens kept rumbling. The soft wind that whistled some minutes ago had shifted into a storm. Thunder clapping under the gaze of the moonlight.
Imogen sat there, she couldn't move further nor backward. Her legs were rooted in place. No matter how hard she tried to move, it was a waste of strength. Her father was stronger than she had imagined, how could he even do that from the palace.
The smile and gleeful expression escaped her grasp. There was no way she was going back to that palace. The joy in her eyes were gone. She knew her father had eyes over the forest and wouldn't let her go. She tried desperately to get out from the tick mud, but she couldn't.
" Just. Let. Me. Go." Each words came out forced, her lips curled up. The pain of being betrothed to a man she didn't even knowーa man she haven't seen before, a man she didn't loveーmade her gut flip. Tears welled up her eyes. Questions raced in her head.
How could her father do this to her? How could he just forget she also had a life of her own? How could he stop her after running when he knew really well that she doesn't love the man he wanted her to marry?
The leaves rustled behind her, sounds of footsteps approaching made her gut churn slightly. She kept trying to get her self out. She tried much faster. Much stronger. But, she just couldn't get herself out of the hidden force that held her tightly into the mud.
" Faster," she heard.
" She wouldn't have gone far. She is around here somewhere I can smell her." Dastan's voice was more familiar than the sound of a horse.
She sat back on the wood trunk helplessly. There was nothing she could do anymore. Fighting again and again means nothing. They would eventually find her even if she had escaped her father's clutch.
Dastan and his men came into view. He signaled them to stop. Slowly he hinged forward, trying to assure Imogen that he wasn't there to hurt her. Before he could place his hand on hers, she punched him.
" f**k you, Dastan!" She yelled, " You knew Dad was going to ruin my life, yet you still let him." She said, her voice echoing through the space. " You knew, don't you?" She yelled,
Dastan knew the consequences and didn't dare to speak in front of her. He ordered men to carry her up while she struggled and tried to escape. But there was no escape route. He knew really well what this relationship might mean for the Fae kingdom and what it would really mean for her.
It didn't take long for them to get to the palace again. The king had sent a message through leaves and nature itself that he doesn't want her to escape again. And it was better to have her in the palace with him.
The world wasn't as is thousands of years ago. So many things have invaded their kingdom and the Faes also needed to outwit the best of the best. And that was by joining the politics as well.
"Father, please. I don't want to marry him." She begged lowering her head, her knees grazed by the force of being pushed to her knees. She was more different from the others. And it remained a deep question for the whole kingdom.
" What an insolence?" The king growled slightly, " How could you run from the palace without my knowledge? I am your father. I decide your every step!"
" You do not, Father!"
None of them were ready to back down. If only her mother was here, she would have stopped the fight like she used to back in the daysーImogen thought to herself.
The door at the edge of the great hall swung open, revealing a young man. His presence exudes an unknown aura. His suit made him look dashing beneath the gaze of the blue chanderliers. His white hair stood out. Every detail to a creature like him was a bonus to how perfectly built he was. Blake gazed at the table, watching his soon to be bride on her knees.
" It will be great if I'm allowed to take things on from this point." He said, his voice came out cold. There wasn't much time to waste. " We don't need much of a fuzz. All frenzy preparation will be addressed in my pack. All she needs to do now is to sit down in the car."
The king tilted his head slightly, trying to understand what was going on. But then again, this was all part of the deal. There wasn't a need for a whole preparation. No one knew he would come until the last second anyway.
Understanding what Blake meant, the king stretched his hand forward. Whispering a few words beneath his breath, he locks her up with air itself. And made sure she wouldn't escape again. Everything needed to feed the purpose of this marriage and fast.
Tears flooded Imogen's eyes as she was carried towards the unknown car alone. She could feel a familiar strong stare like dagger behind her shoulders, and she knew it was her crazy step sister. Moira.
She was thrown into a black SUV car, locked in place. And she had to wait for the beast that wanted to marry her to come so she would tell him a piece of her heart. This marriage wouldn't be easy for any of them. If her father thought he was wise, then she needed to show who was wiser. She would make sure to ruin this arrange marriage and that was for sure.
Soon enough the door swung open to the passenger seat. And Blake came in. His red crimson eyes were flickering as if he was trying to contain something. He sat motionless, staring blankly at the chair. No movement. Just total silence and blankness.
" You filthy i***t!" Imogen roared,
Her body tried to break free from her father's grip. But, no matter how she tried it kept getting tighter. It seemed her father had known the kind of daughter he had and would be as stubborn as her was when it comes to this kind of deals.
A man opened the door instantly, he got into the driver's seat. Although handsome, Imogen couldn't help but appreciate Blake's beauty while she yelled.
"Get me out of this car!"
" Keep it down, missy." The guy in the driver's seat said.
" I won't stop yelling until you let me go!"
He butts his head. He knew what he was into from the moment he said that. He knew today would be hell till the rest of his days on earth. He didn't turn his head as he pressed his foot on the accelerator. Driving out of the kingdom into the distance.
