Selene sat in her chair, her fingers trailing around her eyebrows. Her lips pressed tightly into a line. She stared at the video in front of her. It showed the Blackwoods driving out of the pack's territory. She hissed loudly, shutting her laptop.
"Why did they allow him to leave?" she asked, lifting her gaze.
She watched Kai, who scratched his head as though he wasn't aware of what had happened. His eyes were blank. Blank of any emotions. It made her wonder why his mate wouldn't come to pick him up. And ever since then, he had been less frequent at the mansion.
He shook his head. "I don't know." Lowering his gaze, he sat on the sofa opposite her. "Maybe, they drove their way out."
Blake and Imogen had left the night before. And they were in the mansion at the other side of the border.
