“What do I do?” Lee, frustrated, asked. He sounded like a confused child pleading with a teacher. But Kale had no help to offer. Kale tried to put himself inside Lee’s head. Lee had just turned 20 the previous month, four years younger than Kale. This was the first time either man had seen a severely injured person.
