35 - 35 - Kharem approached the door, nodded to Hornet. The warrior nodded in return, made no comment as he ushered Kharem inside. “Ah, you’re here!” Viper stood in the middle of the plain room, his eyes alive, his hair slicked back. The cuffs of his shirt were unbuttoned and turned up, as informal as Kharem had ever seen the Authority agent. “As you instructed,” Kharem said, scanning the room. There was no furniture, and bright light fell from the ceiling. Against the back wall stood a female, smartly dressed, with a blank face that almost hid the fear in her eyes. Hornet closed the door and took up a position to the left of it, close to Kharem’s back.
