51 - 51 - Rodin concentrated, and the aches of his body faded away, replaced by a soft throbbing. He breathed steadily, in time with the beating of his heart. As the door closed behind Aleph his fingers slid along the lance, curled around its warm body. And on the screens, the warriors stopped. Other feeds showed Genna’s people in retreat, showed the buildings they destroyed in their wake. The warriors waited beyond the barrier, motionless, ready. Dust settled. Rubble rolled to a stop.
