Judas sat in his first-class compartment on the Ley Line Express and moved a piece of lemon around his gin and tonic with a very smart silver stirrer. Even the bubbles in the tonic were acting professionally, taking it in turns to pop and fizz. The carpet in the compartment was thicker than any of the rugs Judas had at home, and he had spent a lot of time and money choosing those floor coverings. He had his own W.C. and shower, a pull-down double bed, and a brass panel with at least 20 buttons on it that enabled him to order any food he wanted, reserve a table for dinner, or simply to annoy one of the hard-working train staff who had pulled the night shift.
