The night felt heavier than usual.
Clouds rolled slowly across the sky, covering the moon and plunging the forest into deep shadows. The pack territory was unusually active—wolves moving between the trees, voices murmuring in low, urgent tones.
Something big was coming.
Lila could feel it in the air.
She stood near the edge of the clearing outside the cabin, watching as Darian’s wolves gathered one by one.
Their expressions were tense.
Alert.
Ready.
Darian stood a few feet away, speaking quietly with two of his strongest fighters. His posture was calm, but Lila could sense the pressure building beneath it.
The bond between them pulsed steadily.
Every time she looked at him, it grew warmer.
