The Lost Mate

Luna

After the night that I told Christian about my past, he told me that at the end of the week there will be a ceremony to not only make me officially a part of the pack but to also make me Luna. So here I am freaking out because today is the day. I kept thinking over and over on how I won't be a good Luna because I have no clue what they do.

'I can't do this,' I kept telling myself in my head. I was so worried that I would mess up the ceremony and make myself look like an i***t in front of the whole pack. I was so deep in thought that I didn't even notice that Christian had come into the room.

"What has you so tore up," he asked with curiosity.

"I can't do this Christian. I am going to mess up and look like an i***t. I don't know the first thing about being a luna. What if I'm not good enough for you or the pack. I have only been a wolf for a week. I know nothing about how things run in a pack or if there are any laws like in the human world!" I am freaking out and I am probably overreacting but I can seem to get my mind to slow down.

"Angel you will be fine. I will teach you. You will be a great Luna for our pack. You will lead them with love and respect. You will hold each of them close to your heart and you will treat all the pups as your own. I know your heart Em and I know that you are my mate for a reason. I didn't choose you on my own. the moon goddess chose you for me for a reason. You know what is right and you love wholeheartedly."

His words alone make me remember why and how much I love him in such a short period. I know I would never have found anyone like him by myself. This is the world I belonged in and I should have been raised in, but we can't control what the world throws at us. We take it and let life take us where we are supposed to be. I know this is where I am supposed to be right now and for the rest of my life.

"Together forever?"

"Always," He replies.

"Well if we are doing this I need to get ready so you need to leave."

"Is someone thinking they are the boss around here? I think you are looking to be punished angel."

I see his eyes start to darken. I send a small smile to him. I am teasing him so tonight he will be ready to go because he has been holding back on me because he doesn't want to hurt me but I want all of him. No barriers and no fears, I need him to be completely open with me.

"I need to get ready Christian if we are doing this today."

He turns around and walks out of the room but not before giving me a look and I know I am in trouble later tonight. I finish curling my hair and then pinning the front back so it isn't in the way later. I then do my makeup and I do the more natural look but with the wing eyeliner and mascara that makes my eyelashes long and bold. I go to the bed where my dress is laid out. It is a red, long, and flowy that has diamonds spread out from the end of the dress-up to my waist. It is the most beautiful piece of clothing I have ever seen. I also had a diamond earring, bracelet, necklace; but what shocked me the most was that Christian went out and bought a diamond tiara. It was so beautiful that I almost didn’t want to wear it because I felt like I didn’t deserve to wear it. I was not a queen or princess. Why would he go out and buy me this?

Finally, after getting dressed one of the pack members came up and told me it was time. Walking down the steps I started to panic again. I couldn't wrap my head around; I was about to become Luna. I was so scared because of all of these people are going to be looking up to me for guidance and the children would look to me as a mother of sorts. I was not ready but I knew I had to be. These people needed me. They needed a strong female to help guild them and to help them make decisions that they weren't able to make themselves. I knew that no matter how scared I was that I will always be there for them and to give it all I have.

I get to the bottom of the stairs and see the whole backyard lite up with lights and candles lined up where I am supposed to walk and around the stage where the ceremony will happen, through the double glass doors. Tears build up in my eyes knowing he put so much thought into this. Suddenly the double doors open and I know it's time. I walk down the candlelit aisle and realize that the whole pack is here to see this.

I make it up the three steps to the stage to Christian and take a deep breath. I finally look up into Christians eyes and they are dark. The darkest I have ever seen them which must mean that he likes what he sees. I can't help the blush that covers my whole face.

One of the male elders' voice breaks us out of our trance. "We as a pack, family, and protectors are here to witness our young Alpha has finally found his Luna. You will witness not only her joining out pack but her becoming our Luna. When she becomes Luna she won't only be our Alphas mate but also a mother and a mediator when times are tough. She will be the voice of reasoning and level-headedness. She will be what hold all of us together as a family without a Luna a pack will not be able to survive." He makes me realize how big my role is to this pack.

"Emerald are you ready to become a part of our pack," he asks with great love and pride in his eyes. I am not sure why he has that look but it gives me the strength I need.

"Yes."

He pulls out this dagger. Its small but you can teel it is sharp. He holds his hand out to Christian and Christian gives him his hand with no hesitation. The elder takes the dagger across the palm of his hand fast. I then notice the cup that someone must have been waiting to give him. He allows some of Christians blood to flow into the cup. " Do you allow Emerald to come into this pack to become one with us and let her into our lives to protect her as she will protect us?"

"I do," Christian states while looking me in the eyes. The look he gives me is pure unfiltered love. He is letting me know he will and would do anything for his Luna.

The elder then turns to me and takes the dagger across my palm the same way that he did Christian. I suck in a breath from the sting. He holds the cup under my hand and lets my blood also flow into the cup.

"Do you come into this pack with open arms to everyone and promise to protect them as they do you?"

"I do," I reply looking out to the pack.

"Please put your palms together and then repeat after me."We lift our arms and take each other's hand.

"Christian repeat after me. I welcome you with open arms as does my pack. We will protect you as we would a sister, lover, or mother. You are one of us now and forever."

Christian once again looks in my eyes repeats what the elder says. He is wanting me to know that this is a promise.

"Emerald repeat after me. I promise to protect the pack as I would my brother, sister, mother, father, and lover. I am one of you now and forever."

I repeat this looking at the pack that I am now a part of. I can see happiness in each of their eyes. I suddenly start to hear hundreds of voices in my head. I enjoy knowing that I can communicate with everyone now.

"Now we will move on to the Luna ceremony if Christian and Emerald are ready."

We both nod to the elder at the same time.

"Christan and Emerald have found each other. She did not know about our kind or about who she truly was. Together they have learned that they are meant to be one and to not only learn and support each other the years they spend together but to also encourage and compromise on things. From this day on do you both promise to not only love and protect the pack but each other and for both of you come together on decisions on what is best for the pack?"

"We do."

"At this time each of them will drink from this cup."

Christian is the first to take a drink. After he is done he gives it to me and I do the same. The taste isn't bad. I start to feel stronger and I start to be aroused for no reason. I look at Christian and I can tell he is the same. I know if this doesn't end soon then we are going to be putting on a show for the whole pack.

After the ceremony, we all eat, drink, and everyone welcomes and congratulates us. The whole time this is going on my arousal becomes stronger. Christian suddenly stands and dismisses us into the house but tells everyone to keep enjoying the party.
