Elena POV
As I sit in the garden, the schedule of my new life as William’s fiancée in front of me, a sudden longing for freedom washes over me. I decide to seize the moment, to experience a night of carefree fun before my royal duties consume my life.
I retreat to my room and rummage through my wardrobe, finally settling on a sexy, form-fitting gown that I had bought on a whim during one of my shopping sprees in New York. The gown, a stunning piece of art, hugs my curves perfectly, making me feel both powerful and beautiful.
With a final glance at the mirror, I step out of my room, my heart pounding with excitement. I find the royal driver waiting in the foyer, ready to take me wherever I wish. “I need to go to a boutique,” I tell him, my voice steady despite the lie.
As we drive through the city, I can’t help but feel a thrill of anticipation. When we reach the boutique, I thank the driver and watch as he drives off. Once he’s out of sight, I hail a taxi and direct it to one of the city’s most popular clubs.
The club is a riot of lights and music, a stark contrast to the serene grandeur of the Duke’s mansion. I lose myself in the rhythm of the music, dancing like no one’s watching. I laugh, I drink, I meet new people - it’s exhilarating.
As the night wears on, I can’t help but feel a sense of contentment. This is exactly what I needed - a reminder of my old life, a taste of freedom. After all, a Duchess can have a bit of fun too, right?
Unbeknownst to Elena, her every move is being monitored by a secret security detail assigned by the Duke’s family. When they notice Elena’s deviation from the planned schedule and her arrival at a club, they immediately report back to William.
Upon hearing the news, William decides to personally ensure Elena’s safety. He dresses casually, donning a black t-shirt and jeans that accentuate his athletic build, making him look both casual and undeniably attractive.
He arrives at the club to find Elena dancing with a stranger, her laughter echoing over the loud music. Seeing her so carefree brings a smile to his face, but the sight of the stranger’s hands on her makes jealousy flare up in him.
He makes his way through the crowd, his eyes never leaving Elena. As he approaches, he gently pulls the stranger away, his expression leaving no room for argument. The man quickly retreats, leaving Elena looking surprised. But looking at what made I dance partner leaves she giggled
“William,” she slurs, her words slightly jumbled due to the alcohol. She looks him up and down, a slow smile spreading on her face. “You look… handsome. Too bad you don’t find me attractive.”
Before William can respond, Elena sways on her feet, her eyes fluttering shut. Realising how drunk she is, William quickly steps forward, catching her before she can fall. He scoops her up in his arms, carrying her out of the club bridal style.
As he carries her to the car, he can’t help but look at Elena, her face peaceful in her drunken sleep. Despite the circumstances, he can’t deny the affection he feels for her. But for now, his priority is to get her home safely.
Upon arriving at the estate, William carries Elena, still in his arms, through the grand entrance. The mansion is quiet, the festivities of the evening a stark contrast to the tranquility that now surrounds them. He ascends the grand staircase, his footsteps echoing in the silence.
He reaches her room, a sanctuary away from the chaos of the world. He gently lays her on the bed, her form barely making a dent in the plush comforter. As he attempts to pull away, intending to leave her to rest, she tightens her grip on his hand, her eyes fluttering open to meet his.
“William,” she murmurs, her voice barely above a whisper. Her eyes are glassy, the effects of the alcohol still evident. “I feel so lonely.”
Her words hang in the air, a silent plea that tugs at his heart. He’s about to respond, to reassure her, when she pulls him closer. Before he can react, she presses her lips against his in a soft, lingering kiss.
The kiss is unexpected, but not entirely unwelcome. He finds himself returning the kiss, their lips moving in a slow dance. It’s a moment of comfort.
William POV
After the unexpected kiss with Elena, I find myself in a state of turmoil, the taste of her lips lingers in my mouth and I can feel a warmth spreading through me a clear sign of my arousal, but as my body was drawn to her my mind was in chaos.
But with a heavy heart I pull away from her, with her looking at me in a daze then slumping in the bed, after making sure she was sound asleep I left her room feeling a wreck of emotions
" What is wrong with me, I just promised Maya that I would solve this problem and am here behaving like a hormonal teenager, for f**k sake am 26 years" I decided to take a cold shower to collect my emotions
After the shower my mind still keeps going back to Elena and her alluring beauty, she is beautiful that it makes me a mess and I hate her for it and will make sure that I kill this feeling
