Dru stepped forward and then Cecil followed suit. They began to circle each other. Terrell and Joe stayed back, but Dru could feel their fury. They wanted a taste of the action, but they wouldn’t interfere. This was Dru’s battle, he would fight for all of them.
One thing Dru had learned in his centuries of life was patience. If he waited, Cecil would make the first move. It would also be a mistake. After several more circles around each other, Cecil finally lunged. Dru easily maneuvered around him, but he didn’t counter attack, not yet. Cecil was large, and he was powerful, but he was also older and he lacked the power of a mate and a pack. Dru could wear him down.
