Chapter 24
Annie
Annie knew what Dru had been doing into the wee hours of the night. She also knew that was where he had taken off to at first light. She knew it would happen from the moment she walked back into Dru’s life and told him where she had been. Ethan made things different though. Annie wanted Dru to be clear of the killing and the violence for Ethan. It was an impossible standard, and she knew it, but she couldn’t help but still yearn for it.
Her and Ethan went downstairs the next morning, and for the first time since she had been at Dru’s, there was no one else in the kitchen or living room. Annie liked having the pack around, but she found it was nice to be alone. The main house was everyone’s home, so she felt like once again she didn’t have a home of her own. Annie shook
