Chapter Seven Ladies’ Night Sitting in a far corner to be discreet, Clare glances at the grand marble cased wall clock up above the now finished buffet. Nine o’clock! The ‘show’ will be starting soon. Finishing off her chicken sandwich supplied from the buffet leftovers, she looks across the hall at the banquet crew working with diligence bussing the large round dining tables. With a few women left chatting over their after dinner drinks, the crew are expert at being inconspicuous while clearing the remaining tables.
