Barbara realized she was staring at Markus in disbelief.
"I'm sorry, come again?", she said.
Markus looked at her sideways. "I know it's hard to believe, he said. But I've been waiting to find you since the day I was born. And now that I've found you, I know it was worth the wait."
"This guy was serious", Barbara thought when she looked at his face, not even a glint of a smile which could indicate he was just joking.
"Okayyyy", she said. "I believe I'd like to get out of the car now". Barbara decided she had listened to enough for today.
"No", Markus said simply.
"No?" Barbara asked, anger starting to build up inside her.
"I'm taking you out to dinner", Markus said.
"I don't think so", Barbara said. "I already have plans for tonight".
"Cancel them".
