My heart was racing while watching Riley do the ultrasound. Her whole focus was on the screen, while mine was on her reaction. I’m both excited and scared, and I genuinely don’t know which to feel first.
“Why do you always look like you’re about to go on a potty break whenever I check up on you? Relax.” Riley commented after noticing my reaction. She perfectly knew why I was terrified right now, and she was probably trying to comfort me in a way, but I couldn’t possibly relax or smile right now.
She smiled this time. “Don’t worry, your baby girl is perfectly normal and healthy.”
It took me a few seconds to process what she had just said before realizing how Riley casually revealed my baby’s gender.
My eyes progressively widened. “It’s a girl?”
