Chapter 2: Engagement

I go down through the stairs.
“Keys madam” as he handed me keys
“Ferrari? I have a car?” I asked Denver
“We all do, come out! We’re gonna be late” Aglaia said.
I took my grey backpack and head out. Thalia is riding a red shiny Volkswagen, Urania is riding her SUV; a black Chevrolet, Aglaia is riding a silver Audi, Persephone is riding at Clio’s sexy blue Ducati, Melpomene is riding a red Lamborghini Gallardo, and Eros is sitting on his matte black Ducati. He’s as sexy as ever. He smiled at me.
“Eros can make Euphrosyne smile!” Melpomene teased. I smiled widely.
“Happy? Let’s go!” I said as I hopped on my matte black Ferrari. We head to Bradford Savierè University. I went out from my car and I wear my oh-so-nerdy glass.
“Nerd-couple, seriously?” Clio said.
I forgot that Eros has poor eyesight here on earth.
Caleb’s P.O.V
I’m Caleb Burton.
“Hey Caleb I heard the transferees are coming to school today” Drake said
“Like I care!” I response without even glancing at him proving I don’t really care.
“What if there’s a pretty girl with them?” Carlo asked
“Still won’t care. Could you shut up! I am busy here preparing for the transferees. I don’t even know what’s so special about them?!” I said irritated
“Mr. Vice President, the principal wants to talk to you.” Secretary said
“You’re a dead meat Caleb!” They both teased
I brought my report with me to the dean’s office. I and the dean were talking when we heard screaming on the hall. We continue tackling a bit more
“Maybe they’re already here! Let’s go to the meeting of officers now” The dean invited me.
“Miss Collins, excuse me for a second” a teacher called her.
“Caleb go ahead first” so I do as told. I opened the door because I am curious that it’s so quiet then someone speaks, so I went inside.
“…And I was saying” then she looked at me “And who are you?” she asked me with a cold-annoyed voice
“Hahaha. You are asking me that? Who are you to sit there? That’s for honorable person only and that’s clearly not you” I said.
The 7 unfamiliar others reacted. Drake and Carlo cleared their throat.
“Drake, why don’t you tell this girl? Why did you let her sit there?” I said.
He looked the other way. What’s wrong?
“Caleb I heard you shouting. What’s the prob-----Oh no, Ms. Euphrosyne, you are here. I didn’t recognize your arrival.” The dean told her. Miss? Oh heck?? Who is this girl??
“I better get going. Meeting adjourned. Oh wait, Miss Collins, who is this guy?” she said pointing a finger at me.
“He’s Caleb University’s Vice President.” Miss Collins answered
“I think we should elect new Vice President. A vice president should respect the university’s president and owner of the school. Don’t worry I already announced the election day” then she looked at me
“Just for vice president” then she’s about to pass the door,
“Watch your words Mr. Burton” then she left.
“What did you do? Oh come on Caleb, of all people why her?!” Ms. Collins then she left. I am screwed. Totally screwed. What am I gonna do now?! But wait, how did she know my surname?? Damn! What’s wrong with this day?
Eros’ P.O.V
We are all walking to the hall.
“I love your personality Euphrosyne. Like heck, everyone’s respecting you. You got a whole lot scarier. Like next level” Clio said.
“I have a mission and so do you. We’ve been late with the lessons but don’t worry we already know it. Listen, today they will organize the audition for sports. You already have your position. Here it is Urania you’re in badminton, Eros you’ll be the school rank 1, so better study and you’ll be a chess wizard, Thalia you’re a cheerleader, as for you Melpomene and Aglaia you’ll be the captain for soccer boys and girls team. Persephone you are a chess player, you are a bookworm but not a nerd. Clio you are basketball’s team captain. As for me I’ll be a swimmer. And we are all heartthrobs here so be careful with everyone. They are all watching. Here’s our schedule” then she showed us our schedule.
“Eros we’re classmate with all of the subjects, same for you Thalia. Urania I am your classmate only at Physics, Livelihood, P.E and those who doesn’t have any same subjects with me you’ll be same with Aglaia. We are all classmates in History and Physical Education. So we need to head now to our room.” She ended
“All students please head to the gym now. Thank you” and repeat
So we went to the gym as told at the announcement. When we head there, Miss Collins signal Euphrosyne to go to the stage.
“Okay students, pay attention. This is Miss Euphrosyne Archaengel, President of University Organization, owner of the school. She’s too young but she already accomplishes many awards ‘til now. She’s all alone but she can still manage to run the school. Give her a round of applause.” Miss Collins ended. She handed the microphone to Euphrosyne
“Good day everyone. I won’t ask for more but I have 3 requests or should I say command. I want it with everyone. First respect, second discipline, lastly cooperation. If you have that with you, you can easily have fun, with my permission of course. I can see you, everything and all so better be careful. Did you just put out a dirty finger on me Mr. Daven Dickinson? Better not piss me off. You won’t like me mad. That would be all thanks. Please head to the sports audition” she ended coldly like how she started it. They were all shocked and startled. Obviously!
“for badminton, please welcome Urania Evergreen, the badminton club president, for soccer, male category captain, Melpomene Chamberlain and for girl’s category, Aglaia Chadwick, for chess Persephone Edison is the captain. Here’s basketball team captain Clio Edison, for swimming, our very own Euphrosyne and for the cheering squad have our cheerleader Thalia Scotte, for all those who are interested please look for the said person at their respected places and halls, please proceed now. Thank you!” Miss Collins ended. So everyone left as told
Euphrosyne is walking to me. My heart is palpitating.
“Stay with me. Stick with me, don’t leave alone, got it?” she said. Of course I will always stay with you. I just nod in approval. Why am I deeply in love with this cold princess of mine? Well, I love her. We went to the pool area. She changed her outfit in a wave of hand. Her body curve is in outline. I can see her perfect curve. She just let her hair down so it can cover her mark. She jumped into the water. Well, she’s really a good swimmer. I love her really that much, she’s brave, clever, wise, perfect. She is indeed a goddess. I’m stuck on the stage of loving her without her loving me back.
“Hey Eros!” Her call that wakes me back to my senses.
Euphrosyne’s P.O.V
I accidentally turn my head at Eros direction and he is staring at me. Eros what are you doing?! Stop it! Are you undressing me in your mind? p*****t!
“Hey Eros!” I called onto him then I fetch a beach ball and throw it to him. Well he catches it. I got out of the pool then the students starts arriving batch by batch. I let my hair down just like that. After few laps
“Again!” I shouted. After another lap I whistled.
“Okay that’s all for today. I am gonna assess you and I will just post for the results.” I said
“Yeah” they answered absent-minded
“ahh. Yeah. You all did a great job. See you tomorrow. Take care. Bye!” I said to them, they all smiled widely. I turn my back when someone held my hand.
“C-can you p-please s-smile?” then a tear drop from his eyes
Eros’ P.O.V
“C-can you p-please s-smile?” then the little girl cried. Euphrosyne sit down so their face would be a bit of a level.
“Why?” Euphrosyne asked
“y-you looked sad. P-please s-smile… a-always… p-please” the girl cried
Euphrosyne smiled as she wiped the girl’s tears.
“Like this? Stop crying. Sorry” Euphrosyne said.
She smiled. She just smiled. I mean we were too young since I last saw it. That smile. The girl hugged her and left merrily. She changed her clothes in one wave of hand.
“Coffee?” I invited her as soon as we left the pool area I saw a vendo machine. She nods. I handed her a cup of hot chocolate. She drinks it.
“I’m tired. Can I lean?” she asked
“Yes, of course” I answered. Her head was so heavy. I can feel she’s sleeping. I removed my jacket and put it around her
“Like we always do” I whispered
“Like we always do” she said. I wish time stops now. I miss the old Euphrosyne. The mirth, the one who laughs, smiles all the time. Where have she been? Where have you been, Euphrosyne?
