“You gave in,” Annie said quietly and grinned.
“What?” Mary exclaimed in a shocked voice.
She’d barely set foot through the door of the schoolhouse the morning after her first s****l encounter with Tom and the comment from her work colleague stopped her in her tracks. She only came because in the aftermath she forgot to write the note for Annie and thought she better make the effort to inform her colleague of the lessons she carried out the day before.
“Don’t give me that innocent look,” Annie went on. “You gave in.”
She nodded her head towards the corner of the room and Mary turned to see the desk still sitting out of place. Writing the note about the lessons wasn’t the only thing she forgot and not tidying the room was what gave Annie the clue to her indiscretions with Tom. Staring
