Chapter 2: DAY ONE

1031 Words
The following morning, the world seemed to kneel before me. "Ahhhhh," I let out a long yawn, stretching my muscles. "Ready for univercity." The sun didn't rise as a mere celestial body; it rose as a spotlight designed exclusively for the new kingdom of Alex Miller. I stood before a floor-to-ceiling mirror, my reflection staring back with a cold, almost cutting clarity. I ran a silver comb through my hair; every strand fell into place with military precision, as if my own hair feared to disobey me. "Perfect," I said, giving my reflection a smirk. Perfection isn't an act; it's a habit. In the reflection, I could see them. Three maids stood in an impeccable line near the door. They kept their heads bowed in respect, but their eyes couldn't help but steal glances at my body. There was a thick silence in the room, an atmosphere charged with a silent lust that I inhaled like the most expensive perfume on the market. I knew what was going through their minds; I could feel their racing pulses from across the room. What would I do to them if I gave the order to enter? I thought for a second, visualizing a scene worthy of a forbidden novel. A dark, arrogant smile danced on my lips as I imagined the chaos of pleasure I could sow with just a single command. "You may..." I began to say, but the shrill sound of my alarm clock interrupted me. "Tsk!" I clicked my tongue in annoyance. "Another time, perhaps. My schedule must be as perfect as I am; I can't let my impulses ruin my ironclad reputation." I raised my hand and voice like a king issuing a decree. But deep down, Alex was still wondering what would have happened if he had stayed five more minutes in that room... haha. That would be another story, or perhaps fate will show it to us later? I put on my custom-made silk shirt. It cost more than most mortals earned in a decade of hard work. As I walked down the grand marble hallway, the staff stopped and pressed themselves against the walls to let me pass, as if I were a deity walking among humans. I didn't look at them directly, but a small, dangerous curve appeared on my lips. I could smell their desire, their fear, and their absolute submission. To me, this mansion was just a playground, and they were the toys I hadn't yet decided to play with. I stopped in front of a young maid who was trembling slightly. "Relax... I'm not going to do anything to you... unless you ask for it," I whispered with a gaze full of intent and superiority. "I..." she started, her voice breaking with nervousness, caught in my web. "Alex! Your food is served," my mother's commanding voice echoed down the hall, breaking the spell. "Sh... I'm coming!" I said, looking at the floor in bitter disappointment at the wasted opportunity. After breakfast, I said my elegant goodbyes. "Mom, I'm leaving," I said, giving a knowing wink to the maids, who nearly stumbled under the impact of my attention. "I'll see you after class." However, something strange happened. As I walked toward the school, I noticed that the compliments and stares I usually received on the street began to vanish as I approached my destination. An hour later, I stopped before the gates of the prestigious school for the 1% of humanity. "So this is the 'best' school... mm, it looks dirty," I said with the face of a health inspector. "This won't do my perfect body any good." I pulled out a designer mask and put it on before crossing the threshold. I walked in, expecting the world to stop, for time to freeze in my presence. I expected whispers of envy, but nothing happened. Students in thousand-dollar suits walked past me as if I were part of the furniture. To them, Alex Miller was just another face in an ocean of diamonds. "What...?" I muttered with a twitch in my eye. "Is no one looking?" I ripped off the mask. "No, it must be my imagination," I thought. I forced an even more radiant smile and walked with a firm step, but the miracle didn't happen. I walked into my first class radiating the power of my last name, expecting the teacher to shower me with praise. The man didn't even look up from his tablet. "Take a seat. You're blocking the light," he said coldly. I looked at him with pure hatred. This old man is going to get a lawsuit that will leave him on the street, I thought, growling. My internal ego screamed in agony. I was a god in my mansion, but here I was an invisible ghost. I sat at the back, feeling the crushing weight of insignificance. "First time?" a voice whispered next to me. I turned to see a boy with messy hair and thick glasses. The very definition of "unpopular." "Relax," he said, cleaning his lenses. "In this place, everyone thinks they're kings, which means no one is actually recognized. You're just another name on a list, buddy." "DON'T YOU...!" I covered my mouth to hide the imperfect sound of my shock. Then I regained my composure. "Sorry... don't talk to me, unpopular boy." I gave him a venomous smile. The boy made a face of horror and quickly turned back to the blackboard. I clenched my fists under the desk. Who does this pauper think he is? I whispered. In my mind, I raised my hands to the sky in a dramatic roar: No! This is impossible! I looked at the arrogant faces of my classmates, and a predatory fire ignited in my chest. Enjoy your peace while you can, I thought, regaining my lethal smile. I assure you... by the end of the day, this entire school will belong to me and everyone will worship the name of ALEX. "SIT DOWN, ALEX!" the teacher shouted. I sat down abruptly, my face red with embarrassment, whispering as I pulled out my phone: "This old man is getting a lawsuit too, I guarantee it."
