STILL FORTUNATE

(VALORIE's POV)

I was at shocked thinking they already found me, but I'm wrong an old lady got out of the car and held my cheecks. "Ija? Are you okay?" She asked. I can't respond. I can't feel anything."Gary, help me let her in, carry her inside and let's take her to the hospital.Quick!" I heard her say before I completely passed out.

It was dark when I wake up. I can't see anything just the blue light that come's from an aquarium and the sound of hospital machine that's beeping. "Am I at a hospital?" I ask myself. I sit down on the bed where I was sleeping. I tried to get up,but suddenly I feel the pain in my lower abdomen so I decided to sit on the side of the bed. "Where am I?" I asked myself. Wondering if Calixta was able to get me back.

I tried to regain my memory of what happens, before I lose my consciousness. I remember that there was a car stopped in front of me and then an old woman came out and that's it, after that, everything went black. I'm about to move my hands when I noticed that there's a dextrose that was injected in my left hand.

I feel relieved after I realized that the old lady helped me.

I don't know how to start after something bad happened to me? Will Adrian still accept me after what happened? will I get justice for what Calixta did to me?

One year has passed before I was completely healed and was able to stand on my own, for the past few weeks without being able to step or even stand on both feet. I was so lucky because Grandma Chelly never let me down. She has been supporting me since they found me on the side of the road dirty, smelly, full of traces of blood and torn beggar clothes. I was so miserable then that I thought I was going to die. Actually, I was ready to die that day.

It was seven o'clock in the morning when I woke up, the rays of the sun coming from the window hit my face. I got up and took a shower. After that I wore a plain creame colored dress, it had a spaghetti strap and was knee length. My appearance has also changed a lot since they last found me. I looked in a body mirror in the bedroom and saw that my appearance had matured and my hair was long, reaching up to my waist.

It's Saturday so I'm sure Zeke is here now, he's Grandma Chelly's adopted son. He is twenty-nine years old but you won't notice it. He looks the same age as me. He is tall and I think he is 5'9 tall. Its body shape is very manly and it doesn't look far from Jacob Elordi sometimes I wonder if they are twins. Ever since Grandma Chelly took me to her mansion to treat me there and undergo therapy, I have never seen Zeke leave there. Grandma Chelly is happy because Zeke is always there at her house, she before I came told Zeke was living on his own house. I treated him like a real brother, even though we were always teasing and having conflicting tastes in things. Like Grandma Chelly she never left me, from the nights I was repeatedly not put to sleep remembering the night I was r***d and until the nights I cried incessantly and wanted to die. They were the only ones who made me feel that I am part of their family. I am so thankful to the Lord that I met my two saviors. The word thank you is not enough to say how much they mean to me.

After I got out of the mansion. I saw Zeke sitting in a reclining chair in the vast garden of Grandma Chelly’s mansion. He was quietly reading a magazine while drinking coffee. Even before I could get close to where he was sitting, he turned to where I was standing and smiled tenderly. "Come sit here" he said and led me to the chair next to the table where his coffee was. "Adrian Aldano seems to be thriving in his business and his fiance Calixta Richards looks very proud. Do you think that guy still cares about you now Val?" He asked seriously while still looking at the magazine. I gave him a serious look."That's good for them, they should enjoy every success they have. One day I'll make sure all the fun ends. For now let's let them be happy." I bravely answered Zeke and gave him a mischievous smile. He smiled, he sipped coffee and said "That's my girl!"He chuckled.

Zeke is right. Does he really care for me?

Does he try to find me? Is he happy right now?

Those questions occupied my mind.

I was stunned when Zeke tapped me on the shoulder as he stood up. He smiled and said "Start a new life Valorie. I know you can. Me and mama believe in you" he said, before walking back inside the mansion.

Calixta succeeds in claiming Adrian. Two months since I disappeared I found out they were already in a relationship on a tv news. Adrian is a well-known business man so I won't be surprised if the paparazzi interfere in his personal life. As for the news they are planning to get married after two years. Yeah ! F*cking two years to plan my revenge .. my bittersweet comeback to what she did to me..
