CHAPTER 7 Was the mist clearing a little? Callie couldn’t be sure. She felt as though she’d been stumbling about for hours, banging into rocks and being scratched by thorny bushes, while calling out until her throat felt raw. The fear was always in her mind that she might wander out of the confines of her program. She was desperate to escape, yet she was also afraid to leave El and the others behind.
