Soon I'm done cleaning, I flings the rag on my shoulder and turn to go back to the counter.. but I suddenly bump into someone.
Hot coffee pour on my chest and I scream.
"Oh my God!"
I look down at my chest, not minding my stained white dress, I check if I'm injured and luckily I'm not.
"What the hell?! Are you blind?!" I hear a angry husky voice roar.
I feel a flash of irritation burst from the pit of my stomach.. I raised my head with a very harsh glare...his head bows as he wipes his pants.
"Can't you see you're the blind one?! Your coffee is all over me!" I yelled at him.
He raises his head and... Oh my God! He's a rare creature, I lost myself staring at his face.
His smooth, sharp jawline.. straight pointed nose... perfect shed of gray eyes.. pink lips that's tempting me to reach out and touch them.
His suit hugs his body perfectly, I can practically see his hard chest muscles..I can tell how strong his abs are.
He stands so tall which makes me feel so short...how can someone be so perfectly handsome.
I have never seen someone so perfect before... like there are no flaws on him.
I bite my lower lip, forgetting I am angry at him for spilling hot coffee on me.
"... Celine?" Gina's voice pulls me out of my daze.
"What?" I asked her, my eyes not leaving the fine wine.
"Are you ok? Did you get hurt?" Ray ask.
I nod and smile.
"I'm fine!"
A female rushes to Mr perfect, she wanted to wipe his shirt but he stops her...she looks at him with tenderness.
I feel a burning sensation burst from within me and I don't know why.
It can't be I'm having a crush on him already... No!
"Mr Jake are you ok?" I hear her ask Mr perfect.
He ignores her and glares at me, I frown.
"Apologise!" He demanded.
I stared at him with a small frown.
"You seriously want me to apologise?"
I scoff... looking around, some customers are watching us.
I decide to ignore him to avoid creating a scene...this is our opening day, I can't afford to make a bad impression.
I wanted to leave but he blocks my way.
"I said apologise!" He demanded again.
Now it's official, I can't contain my anger anymore.
"I believe that's my line, I can't apologise to you after you spill your coffee on me!" I said.
I can't believe I'm drooling over this rude a**hole a minute ago.
"Apologise!" He demanded again.
Why is he only saying apologise?! Doesn't he knows another word?!
Ray pulls me back gently and whisper to me.
"Celine, just apologise, he's our VIP customer!"
This statement angered me.
"What if he's the VIP customer?! Does that mean he can wrong me?!" I said loudly so he can hear.
I can feel his pulse raise as he breaths heavily, almost as if he would burst.
"I don't get why he's angry, he spilled coffee on me and he should apologise.. but he didn't, instead, he's demanding me to apologise?"
Ray didn't say anything or he didn't have anything to say.
Mr Jake or whatever his girlfriend just called him, balled his fist.
"Get me out of here, the service here is too poor!" He said.
I scoff loudly again.
"That's because you're a mannerless, idiotic c**k!"
He shuts his eyes and gulps loudly as if swallowing his anger.
"Don't. Ever. Cross. My. Path. Again!" He grits out
He snatches a handkerchief from his girlfriend and wipes his hands.
"Who knows what might happen to this small shop of yours!" He said and angrily walks out of the shop.
I glares at his back until he's out of sight.
"Celine, that was hot! I knew you were crazy but I didn't know you are this crazy" Gina said.. giving me a high five.
Ray sighs and slumps onto a chair as if his life is over.
"Yeah, her craziness just landed us in trouble!" He said.
I raised an eyebrow at him.
"What trouble?" I asked.
"That is Mr Jake.. CEO and founder of Jake technology.. the most ruthless businessman!"
Gina and I shared a confused look.
"So...?" Gina asked.
"We should just hope and pray nothing happens to our shop!"
"What's gonna happen?" I asked.
Ray stares at me briefly.
"If he's lenient, we'll lose a great deal of customers.. if he's not, our names will be blacklist and we won't get job anywhere in the country!" He said.
I frown. I simply put him in his place, is telling him the truth and making him know he's wrong a crime?
"He's a bluff, he can't blacklist our names since he doesn't own the country!"
"He can and he will if he wants to.. he owns almost every company in the country.."
Ray gets up and walk slowly back to the counter.
"... We're doomed!" He said.
Is he being serious? Did my smart mouth really just landed us in trouble?
"Celine, don't listen to Ray.. that man can't shut down your business!"
I didn't reply her but silently hope and pray she's right.. I can't afford to cause Ray any trouble.
In a fit great of anger, Gabriel walks out of the small coffee shop.
Grace rushes after him.
Kael opens the door and Gabriel slides into the back seat.. Kael shuts it.
He got into the driver's seat and wait until Grace gets into the passenger seat.. he starts the car and drives into the road.
"I said find another alternative... was that the alternative you found?!" Gabriel growls.
"I'm sorry, Mr Jake. I couldn't find any other place...."
"Shut up!" Gabriel cuts her off. " Write a review about that shop right now!"
"Yes, Mr Jake!"
His phone vibrates in his pocket and he reach for it...he saw a message from Mary.
"We're visiting dad's grave later...are you coming?"
He ignores the message and keeps the phone back in his pocket.
"Reschedule this meeting.. call Mr Mathew and inform him about the change of plans" He told Grace.
"Yes, sir!" She replies and gets herself busy.
Gabriel throws his head back on his seat and closes his eyes.
His mind goes back to Mary's words this morning... and he clenches his jaw.
He knows he's being distancing himself from his family all these years.. but he isn't doing it intentionally.
The blaring of his phone's ringtone brings him back to reality...
He reaches for his phone and Jay's name appears on the screen. He quickly answers it.
"Jay"
"Yo, Geb, I've got something!" Jay said.
"What did you get?"
"A voice recording... I don't know if you can get anything out of it but can you come by my place to check it out?"
"Yeah, I'll be there!" He said.
"Ok, I'll...."
Gabriel hangs up and throws his phone back in his pocket.
"Kael, take me to Jay's house... then bring Grace back to the office after!"
"Yes, Mr Jake!"
Grace turns to Gabriel from the front seat.
"Are you going somewhere?" She asked.
Gabriel didn't reply her and she continues.
"But I just rescheduled your meeting with Mr Mathew...."
"Make it tomorrow!" Gabriel cuts her off firmly.
She nods and turns back to her note. Kael steps on the gas and drives off in speed.
Kael parks right outside Jay's Villa, Gabriel steps out of the car and Kael drives off.
Gabriel walks straight to the door and presses the bell button.
"Hold your horses" Jay yells from inside.
Soon the door opens and Jay makes way for Gabriel to come in.
"Why did you hang up on me, Geb?" He asked.
Gabriel ignores him, with his hands tucked in his pockets.. he walks towards Jay mini bar and sits on a stool.
"Don't you know it's rude to hang up on someone like that?" Jay queries him.
"I have never been polite!" Gabriel simply replies.
He reaches for a bottle of champagne and opens it.
"Hand me a glass!" He said.
Jay eyes him and rolls his eyeballs before handing him a glass.. Gabriel pours himself a glass of wine.
He shakes it a little, then takes a sip.
"Fresh!" He said.
Jay sighs and sit on a opposite chair next to Gabriel. He also reaches for a glass but before he could pour himself a wine.
Gabriel slaps his hand away.
"Hey! I want some wine too.. we hardly have any time to drink together!" He said.
Gabriel takes the champagne and places it out of Jay's reach.
"Where's the recording?" Gabriel asked.
"You're no fun! I wonder how I ended up being your best friend!"
"Yeah, I always ask myself that but never find an answer!" Gabriel said.
Jay huffs and jumps off the stool.. he heads towards his room.
"Where are you going?"
"To get the recording!"
Gabriel nods and continues drinking his champagne... not up to five minutes, Jay is back with his laptop.
He walks towards the dinning table.
"Geb, come over to the dinning table!" He calls Gabriel over.
Gabriel gets up and walk towards him, he sits opposite Jay.. his glass of champagne still in his hand.
Jay connects a drive to the laptop and presses a few buttons, then a voice starts talking.
"Kill him and make her your scape goat" A female voice said.
The sound of a little girl crying is heard in the background.. her cries then turns into muffled whimpers.
"But she's just a little girl" a male voice speak.
"Little girl? Then why did she come here?" The other voice asked
Running footsteps are heard.
"Let her go" an all too familiar boy's voice speak.
Gabriel clenches his fist at this, he presses the pause button.
"This recording is useless.. I was there!" He said.. he's referring to the little boy.
That's him.. he was the little boy that demanded they let the girl go.
"It's not useless" Jay said.
Gabriel frowns slightly, expecting him to explain.
"Yes, you were there but you didn't see their faces.. they were wearing masks, we can only use their voices to track them down now!"
Geb scoffs.
"Millions of people have similar voices... I just wanna find that girl and know what she saw!"
Gabriel gets up and walk towards the window.
"Who were they.. how did she get there.. and who informed the police.. how did they escape?"
Jay sigh and watch Gabriel silently, he understands exactly what Gabriel is feeling..
Gabriel gulps down the champagne and drops the glass.
"Keep searching, I have to go!"
Jay nods and gets up.
"Today's your father's death...."
"I know!" Gabriel said and walks out.
