He pulled on a well-worn pair of lizards and buttoned his shirt. Was he close to finding the kid? Yeah, he could feel it in his gut. Within moments he was in his pickup, heading to Hank’s video store. There was a used car lot across the street and Mack turned into the alley behind it. He inched his truck in between the other vehicles and waited. Through the glass front, he observed Wanda moving around. He didn’t like her, but something about her seemed vulnerable. He didn’t understand it. He tried to listen to some music on the radio, but it agitated him instead of soothing him. His eyes never left Wanda.
