Evangeline’s Gone!

Her pack.. kneeled to her. Like a queen. She must be amazing. I can’t believe I’m so lucky. She was a dragon also!!! Holy cow.. my brain didn’t even know how to handle that knowledge. Sam seemed to really be considering her offer to join his pack and I didn’t blame him. She could help them. She could make them whole again I just knew it. I didn’t blame my friend I wish I could have been a better alpha for him. I was so locked in my self pity, I didn’t notice Evangeline watching me intently. A sad look in her eyes as she gazed up at me. She could see it. The hatred I felt for myself not being able to help my friend. She leaned up toward me so I leaned further down for her. 

“No one could possibly love this pack more than you Atlas. That’s what I see. What I will always see, in the souls of your family.” Evangeline had whispered those comforting words in my ear, for only me to hear. She really was a treasure, I pressed a kiss to her shoulder before standing tall and facing Sam and his mate. 

“I think I would like to come with you, to see the pack. I also think it’s a good idea for your family Sam.” He seemed ready to argue taking a step in my direction. I held up my hand to stop his protests. “Sam, I really think she could help your little girl. I think she will help you two deal with the quilt that you’ve silently dealt with over the years. I would like to be by your side while you find the way back to yourselves.” Sam still looked ready to argue but Haley grabbed his arm to stop him. 

“Thank you Alpha, it will be easier with you by our side as you’ve always been. We should go start to pack, come on Sam.” She pulled her mate along with her to what I would assume is their room. We followed them out, continuing out to the front porch, waiting til they finished. I needed to let my Beta know he would be in charge while I was gone. Along with my Second Sam. How would we ever make our packs work? What if we couldn’t? I couldn’t live without her now that I’ve been around her, seen her smiles, witnessed her power. She was exquisite and I refused to live my life without her. I barely noticed her softly speaking to me, brushing her lips along my jaw. A rumbling was in my chest at the thoughts racing through my mind. Everyone else had stepped off the porch and headed to the vehicles. It was just Eve and I and I wanted more of her. I grabbed her slim waist and hoisted her up, she wrapped her legs around my waist and her arms curled around my neck. She played with the hair at the nape of my neck and I swear I purred. 

“Don’t worry Atlas. We’ll be together no matter what.” She was giggling at me but her eyes were serious, I had worried her with my distance and wayward thoughts. I didn’t want her to take care of me, I wanted to be the one to take care of her. “Atlas” she said when I didn’t answer her “you already take care of me, more than you know’”

“Do you read minds too?” I tickled her lightly and she giggled arching her back and pressing herself closer to me “Answer me Evangeline, how did you know what I was thinking.” I was almost to distracted by the press of her full breasts, my train of thought scrambled. When I looked up into her eyes I saw amusement about my predicament. 

“Tell me.”

Evangeline laughed and said “No, I can’t read your mind but I can see the colors around you shifting letting me know how you feel, I don’t know what you think but after so long of seeing people the way I see them it gets pretty easy to guess.” 

Now that I had my answer I kissed her because it was the only thing I truly needed in that moment. Her lips parted beneath mine allowing me access to her fully. I needed her more than I needed air right now and from the tight hold she had on my hair I knew she felt the same. The little house had a wrap around porch so I walked us both around the side of the house, away from any of our packs. I pressed her back against the side of the house and let my hands explore her. I started at the tops of her arms trailing my fingers down to her elbows. Next I ran my hands down her sides brushing the side of her breasts, her quick intake of breath is all the invitation my beast needed. Growling I pressed my groin up into hers. Evangeline was a little wild after that, grinding down on me moaning against my mouth. I slipped my hands inside her shirt touching her toned belly, her skin was so soft the rough pads of my fingers caught on her skin. I yanked my head away and hoisted her higher, I wanted to taste her. Yanking up her shirt I saw she had on a beautiful blue lace bra barely containing her over flowing breasts. I slowly pulled one bra cup down, exposing a beautiful pink n****e in the process. My canines pressed against my lips my beast close to the surface. Leaning down planning to put as much of her in my mouth as possible, someone cleared their throat behind us. Evangeline squealed and shoved against my shoulders wanting me to put her down. I quickly put her clothes back to rights and slid her slowly down my body. Her cheeks flushed her breathing fast I’d never seen anyone more beautiful. I brushed some hair behind her ear and she nuzzled into my hand. Finally I turned around ready to kill whoever was standing there. Behind us were the twins. Elbows on the railing there chins resting on there hands. They both sported massive smiles. The one who stood up to Liam, Keegan, spoke first.

“Damnnnn, I’ve seen porn less entertaining than that!” Her twin nodded her agreement. 

“Keegan!” Eve reprimanded “don’t be vile, Hadlee don’t encourage her!” She looked so serious but her expressive eyes laughed at the two girls. 

“We thought we’d come tell you Sam and Haley are packed and ready to go. We weren’t sure who should carry Carol. You never said if the connection between you two could still be broken.” I hadn’t even thought about that. Evangeline had said no touching or talking to Carol. Thank god Sam and Haley had their heads on right cause mine was  solely focused on Evangeline. I looked down at her to see her smiling up at me. I hope I always make her this happy. 

“Come on.” I said. “Let’s get them to their new home for now.” She nodded her agreement and started walking toward the front of the house the twins giggled and walked on the opposite side of the railing with us. Suddenly a lion barreled into Evangeline from the left knocking her off her feet. The weight of the lion holding her down, I was running toward her, only seeing her feet and the lions back legs on top of her from around the corner. When I rounded the corner they were gone! Where was she!?

“EVANGELINE!!!” I roared so loudly I shook the whole deck beneath my feet.
