They say, the taste of heartbreak is just as bitter as the bitter melon. But if you haven't seen the girls in the broken hearts club, you will definitely never learn how scornful the flavor of broken trusts are.

'' So, I will see you after the last period?'' Kyle looked at me needing a response. I shook my head in agreement. Kyle started walking ahead while Charmaine still stood in front of me nervous as if she wants to say something. '' Everything okay, Charm?'' I ask concerned. Noting Kyle is at maximum distance she turned to me say, '' No, it's not. Not after you came along. '' Her voice sounded weak. Like my presence in her life was a threat. '' Sorry? '' I tell muddled. '' Babe! You coming? '' Kyle talked finally noticing that he left without her. ''Yeah.'' Charmaine with a smile ran to him walking together for class. I turn my feet around but I see the girls were watching me the whole time. '' Oh my God. '' Dina spoke bursting in laugh. '' What? '' I ask confused. '' You are the clingy best friend of Kyle, '' Ariel tells. '' Clingy? I am not clingy,'' I deny immediately crossing my arms disagreeing with them. ''You should be careful, Eva.'' Ariel states which seemed like an advice. Dina still couldn't stop her laugh. Ariel held her hand as they both left for their class. Laila stood beside me exhaling the awkwardness air rhythmically. We both giggle watching the circumstances. '' No. It's not funny, Eva. '' She paused. '' You should be careful. '' She said calmly. '' I will. '' I continue to chuckle.

After school I walk out of the gate alone. Too much drama for one day. I watch the flock of birds flying together in the vanilla sky. The chirping were like a tune to my ear along the sound of walking shoes towards my body. A warm hand placed over my shoulder. I whirl around to check. '' Hey. '' '' Hey! '' I glance around him saying, '' Where's your girlfriend.? '' '' She's talking to the girls. '' Kyle answered. '' Oh! '' I say checking my phone. '' Do you need a ride? '' '' Actually.. '' I hesitate. I am pretty much scared what Charmaine might do. '' You know what? Why am I even asking you that? You are going with us!'' He states grabbing my hand. Walking to the destination I pull my hand out pausing both of our motion. He stood there surprised for an explanation. I man up to say, '' I am scared. '' '' What! Why? '' '' You and I we both know that if I spend too much time with you, your girlfriend might plot tricks on me. '' '' What? Charmaine will never hurt you. '' '' Are you sure? '' I ask scared. Kyle walked closer to me as he gently gripped my shoulder confirming, '' Yes!'' '' Yes isn't enough. '' He laughs hearing me as he explains, '' I know she might seem... a bit crazy. But, trust me she's good at heart. '' I nod believing a bit. He loses the grip as we walk to his car, against my will may I add.

I wait in the car for a second as we both exchange looks. '' Ready? '' He prepares. I look at the radio nodding, '' Yes! '' His hand reaches the car radio as it tapped the on button. He plays it on his phone making his eyes fixed on the screen. The song ''Smack that'' bursts out of the speaker. We both speak the lines rapping together as our hands danced obeying the tune. Few eyes were up on us but we didn't bother. '' I guess your final wish to play it on speakers loudly while sitting with your BFF in the same car has finally been fulfilled. '' A voice came as we both look at the owner of the speech . '' How did you know that? '' I ask astounded. I cut a look at Kyle smirking, '' You bad boy! You told her about our friendship bucket list?'' '' Kinda? '' Kyle said bitting his lips out of guilt. I punch him lightly on his arm yelling, '' How dare you? It's embarrassing! '' I laugh hearing myself. '' Don't worry Eva. I know more about you that just this bucket list, '' Charmaine spoke smiling as she opened the door of my seat. '' Oh sure. I will be in the background. '' I remark getting out while the girls gives me a pity face.

I reach home and it took nanoseconds for the car to leave after my foots were set on the ground . Kyle forgot to say goodbye but I am totally okay with that. Since, I need to prove I am not a clingy best friend. I enter inside as I see mom arguing over the phone loudly. '' What do you mean you don't know? '' Mom seemed more pissed than she was when she saw me making out with Jimmy in 3rd grade. '' Everything Okay? '' I ask anxiously. Ignoring my presence she decided to step in her room. I understand her situation. So, I walk to my bedroom to get freshened up. But soon later, I heard a knock. I turned to look. ''

Eva, I need to tell you something. '' Seeing the look on mom's face had already sent chills under my spine. '' Yeah? '' She sat on my bed and her eyes told me to follow her. So, I sit beside her to hold her cold hands. She releases a breath, '' Your dad's work has been shifted into a new town.'' ''So?'' I knew this face. I knew the next sentence. '' So... we need to be moving with him as well. '' '' No we aren't.'' I say as I stood up firing. She puts her chin up to look at me. My eyes already sank in tears. '' It's not happening again. '' My words were weak, just like my trust. '' Eva. Listen. '' '' No! '' I shove her away as I ran out of the house. I started walking in the neighborhood totally alone. The pink sky over my head making me visualize the truth. I couldn't tolerate the pain. My head raised down. Tears on my cheeks. But, I don't mop them up. Since, they will be poured down again and again. I crash onto someone. But I don't dare to look at the face. I continue my pace towards nowhere. '' Eva! '' Zain called. But I don't pay heed rather my attention fully devoted to the lonely streets. He held my hand pausing my speed. He pulled me closer to face me. But I don't look. I don't have the energy to face the truth. '' Look at me. '' His voice so calm that I was obliged to follow it. I stare at his immense eyes acknowledging he could see the Tsunami in mine. '' You okay? '' I don't say anything except nodding my head left and right like a little baby. I gain the courage to say, '' Can you take me somewhere empty and alone? '' He doesn't question my need. He listened as he smiled taking me to his car.

We stop at the Crimson lake. The infamous lake of Wildhill. Of course, I heard about it before. That how peaceful and amazing it is. But I didn't know it would work like a magic pill to soothe my mind. The clumsy wind flowing around. The wooden swing moving back and forth by itself making a sound. The aroma of tranquility in the air. I close my eyes breathing it in. Zain didn't ask me anything since we got here. He respected my silence like a gentleman .

'' I am sorry for asking you to take me here all a sudden. '' I finally open up. '' No.. It's fine.'' He replies genuinely. '' It's actually a favorite place of mine. '' He clarified. '' I was scared by your face. You looked... '' I don't let him finish. So I say, '' Like a mess? '' '' No. Scared. '' I gaze at his face hearing his rare speech. '' You got me worried. '' He tells. I shock myself with a curve on my lips listening to his statement. '' Yeah. Guess what? '' He questions, '' What? '' I wipe the drops off saying, '' I am leaving. '' '' What! WHY?'' I rotate my gaze to the lake. ''Because moving is like a tradition in my family.'' He waits a second for another reason. Finding no other he says, '' Just because they are leaving doesn't mean you have to as well. '' I instantly confront him, '' What are you implying? ''

'' I mean you could stay. They can leave if they want. But, you already decided to build your life here. Why ruin that suddenly and trying it all over again? ''

'' But, how am I going to that alone. ''

'' Fight? I mean explain your reasons and you might get your response. ''

'' You are right! ''

Finally the sunshine smile visited my face.

'' I could convince them to let me get a hostel room or something. There's always a plan b.''

He seemed happy watching me smile. I hug him being overwhelmed by the moment. '' I am glad to have you here with me. '' I express my thoughts boldly not perceiving that my actions can cause me trouble in future.
