Unbelievable

Leah's POV I awake on the cold damp ground. I am freezing and I am scared. I look to where Anika had been earlier and there was no one there. I tried to think on the bright side, my best friend lived and she had made it back to the packhouse. However, the thought that someone had hurt her wouldn't get out of my head. I had SEEN her heart being ripped from her chest. I needed to see her, make sure she was okay. I stood up, ignoring the shivering of my body, and shifted, running full speed to the packhouse. ~ I got there in record time. (For me anyways) I see some teens that I recognize as the ones that stood next to Anika. Well some of them, the rest were new to me. They all seemed to be extremely aggravated and worried. I approach a tall muscular teen. "Hey, what's going on?" I ask and he seems to turn his nose up at me. I would be offended but right now I was too worried about Anika to care, so I just move to another person. Unfortunately they give the same reaction. I try a few others and no one seems to want to talk to me. I lose my cool with them. "ALRIGHT SOMEONE NEEDS TO TELL ME WHAT HAPPENED TO ANIKA RIGHT f*****g NOW!!" I scream this and because of the scream earlier, my voice cracked the entire time. Fortunately everyone had heard me and I got everyone's attention. A girl with blonde hair steps forward. "Who are you to Anika?" She asks carefully. "I am her best friend, I live with her and her aunt, my name is Leah. What happened to her, where is she!? She would have come home to check on me and Janet if she was ok! Where is she?" I was really starting to worry. The girl speaks again, this time, her voice and tone have changed drastically. "We don't know, we have no idea, she was with us, she protected us-" the girl started to sound choked up. I step forward, this time, I'm sure my wolf is just beneath the surface because my voice is distorted and sounds mad as hell. "What happened?" The girl stepped back in shock. "Um well, see, we were ambushed and-" I didn't let her finish. I knew this already. "The scream you all heard in the woods. That was me! I was there I know you were all ambushed. I need to know if Anika walked away from that fight! Please tell me she didn't get her heart ripped out." I whispered the last part, to myself mostly. But with most werewolves, they all heard it. "Why would you ask that?" Her voice sounded real accusing and I didn't like that. "Because I saw her get her heart ripped out of her chest in a dream. I thought I was losing my mind until I saw her fighting the same lycan that had done it in my dream! So tell me!" I used the word dream rather than vision since I felt it gave a different vibe, dream meant I definitely have no idea what and/or how I saw it before it happened so it would be best to just not ask. The girl looks taken aback and not sure how to answer me. Suddenly the tall muscular guy I had talked to first stepped forward. "The lycan did reach his hand in her chest an-" I didn't let him finish. I fell to my knees. Was Anika really dead? The thought didn't get far in my head before the blonde girl stepped back out in defense. "No no, she's fine, physically." She frantically said waving her hands, seeing how distraught I was about to get. I look to the ground and try to think of how it's possible to survive someone reaching in your chest but of course come up empty. I must have looked extremely confused because she spoke again. "One of the teens here, I think he might be the healer wolf, he healed her." My eyes widen. The healer wolf was in this pack? And he had saved Anika. I let out a breath I didn't realize I was holding and stand up on shaky noodle like legs. The next thing that came to mind was that she only implied the safety of her physical health. What about the rest? What could have happened after that? "So then explain where she is to me? Did she pass out or something? If so she's probably in the clinic." I start to walk but, the blonde shakes her head and I can feel the sad aura she's letting out. I stop. "TELL ME ALREADY!" I was starting to get irritated. What were they not telling me? The guy steps forward. "Well, we were walking back with the she wolf that came with the lycan and the next alpha runs up, knocking Anika down, and starts to make out with the intruder, we were all confused as hell until he said "mine"." His words sunk in and I was officially pissed. "Oh now I know you're all f*****g lying." I put my hand up. I won't deal with them lying straight to my face. Before any of them could say anything I started screaming to the packhouse. "ALRIGHT MICAH GET OUT HERE RIGHT NOW!" I started to pace as my heart rate began to increase. There is just absolutely no way Micah chose his fated mate over Anika, I just don't believe that. "MICAH!!!!" I scream again breaking my voice further. I was livid and I was confused and I needed to see my best friend but no one would tell me where she was. I run to the packhouse door and with all my might begin banging on it. "GET THE f**k OUT HERE NOWWWWWW!" I was surprised my voice was still working strong enough to scream at this point. Thank the goddess they finally opened the door. At least that was my first reaction, because the next thing I knew I was hit so hard I flew to the ground. I lift my head off the ground, my vision blurry and I'm extremely dizzy but the adrenaline coursing through me is enough to keep me conscious. I look up and instead of Micah, I see Alpha Jackson with his Luna right behind him. He looks mad as hell and is staring straight at me. "How dare an omega such as yourself talk to your next alpha in such a manner. I won't tolerate the disrespect child." She practically spat the words. Like I was the one in the wrong. See there was one thing these bastards don't understand. Neither me, or my wolf acknowledge him or even his son as our alpha. No, my alpha is Anika. She is my best friend and the only person I have ever felt the need to bow or submit too. And right now, they were keeping her from me. I could feel it. I stand up wobbling on the way, I had been knocked out, left in the woods, and hit by the pack alpha so hard I almost lost consciousness. I forgot about all of that for now. I look Alpha Jackson right in his eye, a sign of disrespect and/or a challenge. "Where is Anika." My wolf was apart of our conversation. I could have sworn for the briefest second I saw fear flash on both of their faces. I knew I must have been imagining it. I'm just an omega after all. The alpha stepped forward smacking me again just as hard. "You need to know your place you little bitch." Suddenly I heard a hoard of growls and I look over to see all the teens shifted, and growling at alpha Jackson. I'm at a loss for words, why would they take my side in this fight. The blonde girl shifts back from her wolf, standing tall and intimidating. "Answer the girl." That's all she said and the alpha seemed to be extremely aggravated. "We don't know either, she probably ran off to cry when Micah brought his true mate home." My heart dropped. That wasn't a lie? Suddenly without realizing it, I had shifted and was rushing through the packhouse looking for the douche bag that dare hurt my friend. They had a deal, they were supposed to reject their mates. I remember the day Anika found out they weren't fated. She was pretty much done with him. She only ever really wanted her fated mate. It took a lot of convincing on my part and his to get her to say she would reject her mate for him. He had always been the one who was obsessed with her. So now that I'm hearing he didn't hold up his end of the deal, I'm livid and even my wolf wants his blood. I run up all 4 flights of stairs where Micah's bedroom is. I burst open the door to see his bedroom completely destroyed. I look around and see a petite blonde girl I've never seen before. She has this unbothered look on her face that gave me the creeps. Micah's gaze finds me and instantly softens. "Leah, thank goddess, where is Anika?" He asked in urgency as he approached me. Now I was thoroughly confused. "Where is Anika?" I ask in a mock tone. I chuckle because I genuinely find him to be hilarious. "THAT IS WHAT I SHOULD BE ASKING YOU, HOW DARE YOU ACCEPT THIS-" I stop and motion my hand in the girls general direction. I don't even have the stomach to continue. I am about to rip that girls head off. I turn to leave, but am stopped by Micah putting his hand on my shoulder. "You know how I feel about her Leah... please." I scoff. If he cared about her he would have kept his promise. Now no one knows where she is. I shrug his hand off and without glancing back, I walk out of the room. I will find my best friend. Janet's POV It had been way too long since Leah left to go find Anika. As worried as I was about Anika I was more so worried about Leah. Anika could definitely handle herself. Leah on the other hand couldn't. She had always been a gentle soul, hurting other people never appealed to her so she never wanted to fight. I usually don't leave the house unless it's mandatory, but I guess I would have to if one of them were in trouble. Not that I'd be much help to Anika. I put on my jacket and big boots, before opening the door and stepping outside. The cool air hit my face and I fought the urge to run back inside. I needed to find Leah, I honestly don't want to think of how losing her would effect Anika and myself. ~ I had spent hours looking for Leah, when I had eventually decided to head to the packhouse. Maybe she'd gone there. I began walking the way there when I suddenly heard shuffling. I bent down and didn't move a muscle, hiding behind a bush in the process. I cautiously peek my head up, to try and get an idea of whats going on. I see what I can only assume is a lycan carrying an unconscious female. I couldn't see well enough from how far away I was. I also didn't want to risk getting closer, he may notice me and attack me. I can't fight off a lycan without weapons. Once he gets far enough away I continue on my way to the packhouse. The Alpha and Luna stand outside among a group of young adults. Some of them seem to be ready to pounce on them. They don't have any ties to this pack if they were acting that way, they must be the trainees Anika was to train today. I run up among them. "Where are Anika and Leah, Noelle?" I direct my question to the Luna. It is her job to make sure the she wolves of this pack are taken care of. She explained to me that she didn't know where Anika was and I needed better answers. I needed to know the last person that saw her. "When was she last seen?" I ask, but neither the Luna or the Alpha could answer me. "She ran off." A young she wolf steps forward, her aura radiates the power of at least a Beta. "Her chosen mate met his fated and she ran off before any of us could say or do anything." That explained a lot, however, it didn't calm me down. My mind instantly went to the female that the lycan was carrying. "How long ago?" I needed to know if that was her I saw only moments ago. "I'm not sure, it hasn't been that long." She seemed sure of herself and that was all I needed to confirm my suspicion. "Alpha, I believe that a lycan has taken her, on the way here I saw one carrying an unconscious female, I couldn't get close enough to see who it was but I'm almost positive it is my niece, we need to go aft-" "No" he cut me off and I didn't think I had heard him right. "What?" "I said no, we're aren't going after that demon wolf niece of yours."
