Chapter 3Later in the morning and through the afternoon Friday, October 27, 2000 Gavin sat in his car, hunched over his steering wheel, in the zoo parking lot. He was supposed to be cured: the glowing wasn’t supposed to ever come back. No, not cured, controlled. Nobody was ever to know; nobody was ever to suspect. Not with the suppression drugs and the spells. Exposure was supposed to be impossible. But, was it two? Three? Weeks ago, that poor woman at the Winn-Dixie got caught?
