The king's wrath

414 Words
Their happiness lasted one night. By morning, everything shattered. The Discovery Adrien was leaving Seraphina’s chamber when a dozen armored guards stormed into the corridor. “Prince Adrien!” the captain barked. “You are ordered to stand down.” Behind them stood King Alistair—Adrien’s father—face twisted in royal fury. Seraphina stepped forward, but Adrien shielded her instinctively. “What is this?” he demanded. The king’s voice was ice. “A betrayal to your blood.” His gaze slid to Seraphina—sharp, hateful. “A Ravenna princess in my son’s chambers. A prisoner… treated like a lover.” Adrien’s hand tightened around hers. “Father—” “Silence,” King Alistair boomed. “You have disgraced the throne. Arrest her.” Soldiers surged forward. Adrien roared, “No!” He shoved a guard aside, drawing his sword. In seconds, blades surrounded them. Seraphina whispered urgently, “Adrien—stop! You can’t fight them all!” “I won’t let them take you,” he growled. “She is a prisoner of war,” the king barked, “and you—my son—are no longer trusted.” A cold dread washed through the hall. “What are you saying?” Adrien demanded. The king’s eyes blazed with betrayal. “You are hereby stripped of command … until this matter is resolved.” Adrien’s Defiance Adrien stood tall, shaking with fury. “I will not step aside while you destroy the woman I love.” Gasps. Shock. Silence that felt like a c***k in the world. The king stepped closer, voice low and venomous. “Love? LOVE?” He laughed, a terrible sound. “You have been bewitched by your enemy.” Adrien shouted, “She is not my enemy—she is my WIFE!” The entire hall froze. Seraphina’s breath caught. There was no taking it back. The truth was unleashed like wildfire. The king’s face drained of color, then reddened with apocalyptic rage. “Seize her,” he snarled. Seraphina was torn from Adrien’s grasp. “NO!” Adrien fought, but was overwhelmed—five soldiers pinning him. He watched helplessly as they dragged Seraphina away— her eyes locked on his, fear and fury swirling like storm clouds. “Adrien!” she cried. “I WILL FIND YOU!” he roared. “I SWEAR IT!” The king turned to his son with chilling finality. “You will never see her again.”
