Remember me

1063 Words
Freya I couldn't believe I saw him again. Revan, the boy with the most intriguing eyes. He was amusing. He was different. I thought with no memory of me he wouldn't be taken by me again but I guess I was wrong. He wanted to be my friend again. It made me smile. It also made me happy. I didn't like that he came to the forest to hunt for meat but I understood. We live in a circle of life. We need to hunt and eat meat just like how we eat plants, fruits, vegetables. We just don't offer a prayer or a piece back to the other to offer thanks. I took a piece of the deer Revan hunted to pay respects for him. I offered the piece back to the Earth mother. I thanked her for all she does and provides. I buried it and I knew it would be reborn someday. Maybe not as a deer but as a tree to shade another deer or as grass so another can nourish from it. This is how it worked. This is how it should work. You give and you take but it is equal and fair. I spent the next day healing some trees that were chopped for wood. Again, they take and take but don't offer anything in return. I would hope that I could heal the tree and it could grow twice as big this time. "Boo," I felt hands come on my shoulder. I snapped and turned around quickly. "Revan," I said. "What are you doing here?" "Really? Are you going to ask me that every time you see me in the forest?" "Maybe," I said. "You don't belong here." "And you do?" he retorted. "Yes, I do," I told him. "I am one with the Earth." Revan smiled at me. "Don't laugh at me." "I am not," he said. "That is cute and noble of you. It is pure and wonderful. Someone should honor the Earth like this." "Why don't you?" "Hmm, I don't know," Suddenly, it started to rain. "Not again." He grabbed my hand and ran. "Where are you going?" He stopped and turned to look at me. "To your place," Revan said seriously and then started to laugh. "My bad." "No, I mean. I enjoy the rain but yeah, it's raining hard again," I told him. I began to dance in the rain while he smiled and looked intently. "We should go inside now," Revan came closer to me. He was staring deep into my eyes. His hand came to cup my face. "Let's go," I said softly. I took his hand and led him back to my place. I gave him a towel and let him dry off. "So, tell me about yourself?" he asked. "Not much to tell," I told him. "That can't be true," he said. "Well, I live here alone. My parents died when I was young and I really don't like being around people," I told him. "Oh," "Yeah," "Well, I have three brothers and one sister. I am the second oldest in my family. My parents are very much alive. I am sorry you lost yours," he said. "It's okay. It was a long time ago," I told him. "Well, I wish you could meet my little brother Arthur. He is always at home and never goes anywhere. He would love to see all this," he told me. "Maybe one day you can bring him here," I said. "Oh, well, he can't go anywhere without my parents. My father's rule," he said. "That's not fair but well, here," I got up and grabbed something from my mantle. "It's a whispering bush. If you tend to it and keep it by a window when the wind blows it sounds like it is whispering. It is quite interesting." "Sounds like it," Revan agreed. I smiled. "So, you like plants and stuff." "Stuff," I raised my eyebrows at him. "I told you. I respect the Earth and like being in the forest. I am one with nature." We both laughed. "Hey, are you hungry?" "Yeah, actually I am," he replied. "I'll cook something for us," I told him. I made a simple stew and served it on my little table by the window. "This is such a cute little house," he said. "I like it," "Freya, why do I get this feeling as if I know you?" "What do you mean?" "I just met you yesterday but I already feel like it's been longer than that," "Revan," "I'm sorry if I said something weird," "No, it's just," I took a deep breath. "Please don't hate me." I brought my hands to his temples. "Remember me." Revan suddenly closed his eyes and when he opened them he looked shocked. "What happened?" he asked. "Freya. What? Why do I feel like this? I, I remember that night. I saw you. You were in the lake and I." "Revan, calm down," "Why did I forget that? How could I forget that?" "I made you forget," I told him. "But why?" "You aren't going to ask me how?" I questioned. "Well, I guess but I much rather know why?" "I was scared, I didn't want you to remember me and come back but you did anyway," "It almost felt like something was pulling me here," he said. "Oh," "Yeah, Oh," he repeated. "Freya," Revan cupped my face with both hands and kissed me deeply. I closed my eyes and felt this new kind of energy flow through me. "I am sorry but I really wanted to do that." "It's okay," I told him. "Can I kiss you again?" he asked. I took a deep breath and before I could answer him he kissed me passionately again. We almost knocked off the plates from the table. We both stood up and pulled apart. He pulled me closer and kissed me on my neck. He nibbled away until I whimpered. He kissed me once more and picked me up like nothing in one swoop. He took me to my room and laid me on my bed. He came to lay next to me. "Would you mind staying up a bit longer so we can talk some more?" Revan requested. "I want to get to know you better." "Okay," I said. We stayed up all night talking.
