Tobias's P.O.V.(who missed this guy?)
It had been two days since Dustin came to school and I was worried. Dustin never missed school, it wasn't something he would do on purpose. My poor kitten must be sick. Now I definitely have to go see him to make sure he's okay. I get up from my bed and put on some black shoes that match my black t-shirt. I grabbed my keys and phone and left the house. When I got to Dustin's house it looked as run down as it did everyday but this time the door was wide open. I walked inside quietly looking around for someone.
"Dustin? Hey, are you here?"
No response. I could sense two people in this house but they were below me, so I looked for some basement or something. I found a door at the end of a long hallway that was also open. I walked down the stairs that were past the doors and when I got there all I could see was red.
Michael was holding a bloody and beaten Dustin in his arms and it seemed that Dustin was unconscious. When Michael noticed I was in the room he turned and blocked Dustin from my view growling. I hissed and ran towards them grabbing Dustin and pushing Michael to the floor. "What did you do to him mutt!?" I screamed backing away from the uncontrollable over-sized dog.
"I did nothing, I found him like this! Give him back to me!" He growled lowly before lunging at me to which I quickly dodged him.
"How long has he been down here?" I mutter.
"I don't know I just got here-"
"Then why didn't you do anything!" I screeched and he stumbled back surprised by my outburst.
I began walking upstairs two steps at a time trying to get my little kitten away from that bumbling i***t. "Hey, where are you going?" Said i***t shouted at me while following behind me quickly.
"To the hospital sh!t-for-brains. He's probably got broken bones."
Michael quickly shut up and we made our way to the hospital. I couldn't help but think of the state of that basement. It had a small twin sized mattress in the corner and a lamp next to it. It looked like some homeless person was living there.
But if there was wouldn't Dustin's parents run them out? It doesn't even matter right now, I have to get Dustin to the hospital. Once we pulled up in front of the hospital I picked Dustin up bridal style ran to the entrance. I brought Dustin to the front desk and the man working there seemed to know him.
"Oh god Dustin! What happened?" He asked sounding alarmed.
Who wouldn't though? He called for a doctor and lead us to the waiting room taking Dustin from me and putting him on a gurney. I hope he'll be okay.
Tobias's P.O.V.
It's been two hours since Dustin went in for surgery and Michael and I haven't been told anything so far. I was starting to get fed up when the doctor finally came out with an expressionless face.
"Is everything okay? How is Dustin? Can we see him yet? What-" Michael began firing questions at the doctor only to be cut off.
"He's fine and awake but he's in pain too. You can see him when you like but he will be staying here for a week or two. Don't harass the nurses trying to stay the night, I'm sure Dustin would like a break." The doctor said before walking off still with an expressionless look on his face.
We both stood there dumbfounded by what he said. Did he think one of us did that? How could anyone have the heart to even think about hurting Dustin? He's the sweetest, most adorable kitten ever and he couldn't hurt a fly if he wanted to. But someone had hurt him and what an awful mistake that was to hurt someone I love. I'm going to find the bastard who hurt my Dustin and they are going to wish I killed them. I don't care how many people I have to fight for Dustin, as long as he's okay I don't care.
When I was done mentally threatening humanity me and Michael went to the room Dustin was in. The minute we walked in Michael ran to Dustin, hugging him and releasing a string of apologies for not being there for him. I groaned silently as Dustin forgave him even though I was the one who saved his life.
"I'm really happy you're okay love." Michael whispered and kissed Dustin's cheek. He blushed and looked down smiling to himself.
"Should I leave so you guys can bond?" I said it more harsh than I wanted to sound but it was how I felt. Dustin looked up and blushed a deeper scarlet red before shaking his head and grabbing my hand.
"No don't leave Toby. I want you to stay." He said silently while pulling my hand to the top of his head, silently asking for me to pet him.
I did so and he purred sending vibrations up my arm. I smiled and leaned in for a hug only to be pushed back by Dustin's hand. "My side still hurts, sorry." He apologized looking down at his hands. I smiled sadly and pet his head again.
"No need to be sorry kitten." Suddenly someone cleared their throat and we looked at the doorway to see the doctor from earlier.
"I see you're awake Dustin. Well I think it's time for your friends to leave and for you to get some rest."
I frowned and was about to walk out when Dustin whined softly. "But uncle Dean can't they stay the night? Pretty please?" He pouted and made the most adorable pleading face I'd ever seen. Wait did he say uncle? The doctor grunted seeming to think for a minute.
"Fine but if I even hear them breathe wrong I'll shoot them both in the kneecaps and make sure no doctor in this town will help them, not even a vet." He said seriously before he left.
I looked at Dustin. "That's your uncle?" I asked and he nodded. "Yeah he's overprotective and kinda scary but he's really nice when he warms up to you." He replied smiling up at me.
I smiled back before realizing something. My parents are probably worried about where I am. "I'm gonna step out really quick to call my parents, I'll be back. Michael don't do something stupid for once please." I said and left before he could complain. I pulled out my phone and saw 10 missed calls from my sister and 15 missed calls from both my parents. s**t. I quickly redial my mom's number making sure to hold my phone at a distance. Wouldn't want her blowing my ears off. Soon she picked up and all hell broke loose.
"Where the hell are you Tobias James Anderson! I was worried sick!" I flinched at her yelling and waited for her to finish. When she did I started to explain everything.
"Well you should have called earlier. Anyways, yes you can spend the night but you can't miss more than four days of school got it?" I grinned and responded to her, "Yes okay thank you mom. I love you!" She chuckled and said, "I know, now get home, get some clothes, and make sure you call your sister. Lord knows she'll give you a hard time if you don't do it quickly."
I nodded before remembering that she couldn't see me. "Okay bye mom." I said and ended the call. 'Time to deal with the blue eyed devil.' I thought before hearing an ear-splitting, blood curdling scream coming from Dustin's room. Fxcking Michael!
