Chapter 10

Aiden POV

I went to the restaurant to meet James and Noah. I had asked James to find information on Ella, and we will be going to discuss it over the lunch. To be very honest, im very curious about Ella. I walked inside and saw my two friends sitting at a table. I gave each of them a hug as soon as I reached. I pulled out a seat and we ordered our food and settled down. We talked about business for some time. Finally, the food arrived.

“Ok, I got the information on Ella,” James said seriously.

“Information on Ella?why?” Noah asked.

“I will tell you later about it. James, you tell me what did you find?” I asked.

“Her full name is Ella Matthews. She was born in Italy. I called her college, and they told me that her parents died in a car crash but when I called her high school they said that they were killed. I didn't get much information on her but people in her high school were quite scared to reveal any kind of information. They kind of warned me to not find any information on her. They said and I quote,” Please sir don't even try to find information on her. She belongs to a very powerful family. They are quite ruthless. If they got to knew that you were stalking her they will kill you.” I just thanked her for the help. My nephew is a hacker. He hacked their school computer and got me some information. Her father name is George Mathews and her mother name is Vitoria Mathews. Her brother name is Carlos who also had studied in that school. She was a very good student by the way.” he said and took a sip of his water.

“Woah wait a minute she told me that she was the only child,” I said

“She lied of course. Her father was a very successful businessman but the rumours say that he was involved in mafia but who knows. Her Uncle had taken over the business when her father died or killed whatever, but she was in line to take over the business, but she suddenly disappeared so now her brother runs the business. I found something interesting on google I don't know if it's true or not, but they say that maybe she killed her own parents and that's why she ran away but when they asked her brother in a press conference he said that she wasn't ready to run the family business and want to do something else. She was depressed after our parent's death so that's why she had gone on a road trip and maybe she will stay in a different country. That was nearly four years back.” he stated.

“Wow, but I didn't understand one thing why they were warning you not to find any information on her?” Noah asked.

“I also don't know that. I can only find this much,” he said.

“I saw her fight 3 people at the same time and I saw a g*n at her house. I don't know why she had it. That's why I was curious.” I told them.

“Really man? I saw her fight 5 grown men at the same time at the party. Some drunk guys were forcing her but when she resisted they pulled out a g*n. I don't know why they have it but Ella beat the s**t out of them.” Noah said horrified.

“Why didn't you tell me,” I asked

“I want to but I didn't get the time,” Noah said.

“Maybe her parents were really killed or something that's why she is a trained fighter and that's why she has a g*n at her house but I will still look for more information don't worry,” James said.

James went early because he has to meet his girlfriend but I and Noah stayed for a while.

“I was going to ask Stella to join me for dinner tonight but why we don't you and Ella join us. I will bring her brother to dinner so maybe we will find something. I want to know what's going on. I'm curious and you won't get a better chance to confront her that she lied. what do you say?” Noah said. He has a point. I can confront her and maybe get to know something.

“Ok sure. You ask Stella and I'll ask Ella” Noah went outside to call her and I called Ella. After two rings she picked up.

“Hello, Aiden.”

“Hey listen, I and Noah are going for dinner today. Stella is also coming so do you want to join us?” I asked.

“Um yeah sure. Where are we going?” she asked.

“I will pick you up so don't worry about it,” I said.

“No that's not needed just text me the place and I will meet you there,” she said.

“I will pick up you at 7,” I said and cut the call. Noah came after a few minutes.

“She agreed and was quite excited to meet Ella.”

“Ella has also agreed,” I said. We talked for some time and then went to our home.

Ella POV

I was getting ready for dinner. I decide to wear a black off-shoulder top with a red skirt. I matched it with my knee-length socks. After that, I did my hair.

I wore a light makeup look. After sometime Aiden came. He was wearing a black and white striped T-shirt and ripped jeans and a black coat.

” You look good as always.” he smiled

“Thanks” I smiled back

We went towards the car. After some time we reached the restaurant and as expected it was a fancy one.

We reached our table and saw Stella and Noah sitting. I hugged Stella, and we both sit together while Aiden and Noah sat across us. We ordered our food and talked for some time. our food arrived shortly. Noah was telling us about business.

“Oh and I remember, I saw your brother on the internet last night Ella,” he said casually. I choked on my food. Stella starts patting my back. How the f**k he knows about my brother.

“What? brother? Ella is the only child” Stella said confused.

“Oh she told you that, but she had a brother named Carlos I saw his press conference. It was three years old in which he said that Ella left the family business because she wasn't ready to run it and that you went on a road trip and after that, you will stay in a different country because you were depressed because of your parent's died,” he said. I paled. What the actual f**k? I looked at Aiden, but he was already looking at me with an unreadable expression.

“He is not my brother. I consider him dead.” I said and continued eating my food silently pleading that they don't ask any questions.

“Why if you don't mind me asking?” Stella asked. s**t now, what should I tell her that my brother makes me kill our parents? That my brother is the one who ruined my life, who snatch my happiness, who is the reason why I hate myself.

“It's ok if you don't want to answer” Stella's voice pulled me out of my thoughts. I smiled at her, and we finished our food in silence. Noah paid for all of us saying it was his treat.

“There is an ice cream parlour near, why don't we go there. Their ice creams are just wow.” we all went there. We went inside the shop. It doesn't look like an expensive one, I don't like expensive places. We ordered our ice creams and sat on a table. There was also a TV in this shop. We talked and laughed for sometime forgetting our previous conversation but Aiden was quiet the whole time. Suddenly the voice of the TV got increased. I looked towards it and all the colours from my face drained. There standing was my brother in a press conference. My grip on the table tightened. I looked back at my ice cream but of course, now I was not in a mood to eat anything. I heard the voices from the TV but I didn't look at it.

“Sir what about your sister. We haven't seen her in a long time. Will, she ever come back?” a reporter asked?

“Of course she will come back. She is just completing her studies and of course, Italy reminds her of our parents. May they rest in peace.” Carlos said with sadness in his voice. Tears were falling by now. Images of my parent's dead body were coming in front of my eyes. I hear the same voices of my parents accusing me of their death. I know I was having a panic attack. I was not able to breathe. Noah, Aiden and Stella were calling me but I can't hear them. I suddenly stand up and ran towards the exit. I ran away with tears falling down my face. I don't know where I was going but I want to get away from them. I can still hear the voices of my parents.

“You can't run away Ella”

“You killed us”

“You will rot in hell”

“Run as fast as you can but this guilt will never let you live,” my brother said

I tried to concentrate on my therapist words or anything. After a while of running, I stopped. I was panting. Oh, wow I ran away again. Why did I have a f*****g panic attack in front of them? It's so f*****g embarrassing. After calming myself, I looked around me. I was in an unknown neighbourhood. Great just great. I pulled my phone out of my pocket and checked my location. I was quite far away from my home just wow. I tried to call an Uber but there were none available in this area right now. There were several calls from Noah, Aiden and Stella. It was nearly 10. I opened the map and start walking towards my home. After a while of walking, I felt like someone was watching me. I looked around myself but didn't find anything suspicious, I just shrugged it off, probably my imagination. After about 5 minutes. I was crossing a market. I went to a*****e and bought a water bottle. I was about to walk out of the store when I heard a familiar voice.

“Hey Ella” I looked around and saw Adalyn

“Hello adalyn,” I said while giving her a small smile.

“What are you doing in this area. I never saw you here before.”

“Oh.....I came here to meet a friend but my car broke down and now I can't get an Uber so I'm walking back home.”I lied of course.

“Oh dear let me drop you home.”

“Thank you but I will be fine”

“Nonsense You can't walk home, it's quite late. I was getting some late-night snacks so I came here with my husband. Come on we will drop you.”

“Oh no you go home I will be fine”

“No more arguing ok come on.” she took my hand and lead me to her car. I sit in the backseat while she sat at the front.

“Dear this is Ella Aiden's girlfriend. Her car broke down, so we will be going to drop her at her house.”adalyn said.

“Oh ok it's nice to finally meet you, Ella,” Mr.knight said while giving me a warm smile.

“It's nice to meet you too Mr.knight, ” I said with a polite smile.

“Oh dear call me Josh,” he said

“Thanks for the ride. I know I'm troubling you a lot” I said apologetically.

“It's no big deal you are now family,” he said. I smiled nervously. We settled into a comfortable silence. After 15 minutes we reached my home.

“Thanks so much. Do you want to come inside?”I asked.

“No, thank u, dear, we will go home now, we will meet you on Monday,” Josh said.

“yeah sure goodnight,” I said

“Good night,”adalyn said

“Take care Ella”

I went inside my house. Today was one of the worst days. I was so excited about today's dinner but it was horrible. I sighed and changed my clothes and went to bed.
