The moment Jude sighted the doctor walking towards them, his heart raced. The doctor's straight-looking face made him very apprehensive.
"I need to see both of you in my office now."
They arrived at the office and got seated. After going through some files, the doctor looked at them and saw Jude's face filled with a pile of sweat.
"My office is freezing cold. But your face is totally soaked. I know you're very tense. Please take a deep breath and calm down." The doctor said, then handed him a sparkling white handkerchief.
After his face got wiped thoroughly, the doctor carried on speaking.
"No need for trepidation. Your girl's alright."
"Yes! Ella made it through," Jude shouted while punching the air in celebration.
"She was brought in just at the nick of time. Any more delay would have been dangerous."
Jude's face lit up after hearing the good news. He gazed at his watch. Over an hour remained to the beginning of their exams.
"We can still make it to Santana College before our exams kick off," he thought.
"You said Ella is alright. Can she be discharged now?" Jude asked.
"Nope! How could you think of such a thing? She must recuperate here for at least 24 hours before I could even think of discharging her."
He pleaded with the doctor for her to be discharged immediately. But the doctor refuted his plea.
"If I may ask, why are you so hell-bent on getting her discharged right now? Don't you value her life?"
"I absolutely do, Doctor. Our exams start in the next hour. We can still make it to our college before the exam starts. Please, oblige me."
"Discharging her right now is against the ethics of my profession. I suggest you inform the college authorities about the snake incident."
"They probably wouldn't believe us. Besides, we have both read very hard to wait for a rescheduled exam."
The good samaritan joined forces with Jude and pleaded for her to be released. With every plea, the doctor's heart got softened.
"Enough! I'll see what I can do," the doctor said.
The doctor brought out an undertaking form. Then requested their signatures on it. While they signed, the doctor warned them about the consequences of their actions. But they didn't care.
"Hold on! Let me get to the ward. I'll be right back." The doctor said after the form was returned.
Ella sat in an upright manner, watching the TV when the doctor walked in.
"Hi, Ella. I heard your exams start in the next hour. Is that true?"
"Yes, that's correct."
"Are you ready mentally and physically to go ahead with your exams today?"
"Yes! I'm good to go. I don't even want to pass through the hassle of trying to get my exams rescheduled."
"That's alright. Please, put your signature on this undertaking form."
She did as instructed, and both of them headed to the doctor's office.
Jude rushed towards Ella after her arrival into the office. They embraced and kissed each other passionately.
"And who is he?" She asked when they left each other's arms.
"That's the good Samaritan who assisted in saving your life."
She exchanged pleasantries and thanked him for his kind gesture.
When they were about leaving, the doctor stopped them.
Her medical bills have to be cleared before she will be allowed to leave this hospital."
"That's not a problem. I'll settle the bills." The good Samaritan responded.
He settled her medical bill via a bank transfer. They appreciated his generosity.
"That's alright. Both of you can now head back to your college."
"Please, Sir, can you drive us there?" Jude asked.
"I would have loved to. But I'm already late for work. Don't worry, I'll give you both some transport fare."
"We have to avoid any sort of queues if we want to reach Santana College on time. Besides, Ella needs as much comfort as she could get."
"Hmmnn. You're very right. Can you drive?"
Jude was still learning how to drive. But he lied that he'd already completed driving school.
"I'll give you my keys at the parking lot. Ensure you drive safely so my car won't get bashed."
While they headed to the parking lot, the good samaritan couldn't get his eyes off Ella's butt.
Her gigantic-looking butt wiggled from left to right and vice versa constantly. His eyes were fixated totally on her bum movement. Nothing else mattered. Not even the sound of a message notification from his phone.
"Wow! She's not only beautiful. But very voluptuous. I should be the man having a taste of her. Not anyone else. Jude is quite ahead of both of us. I think this is the right time to get her number," the good Samaritan muttered.
He approached Ella and got her attention by tapping her shoulder gently.
"Hi, Ella. Do you mind sharing your number with me? You just left the hospital. I need to monitor your progress till you arrive at Santana College."
"Wow! That's so thoughtful of you. Please bring out your phone so you can have my number."
As Ella called out her number, Jude turned back suddenly. She saw him walking back towards them. But she continued calling out her number.
"Why are you giving him your number?" Jude asked after meeting up with them.
"Oh! He's such a nice man. He requested my number so he could check up on me till I arrive at Santana College."
Jude grabbed the good Samaritan by the throat immediately.
"What are you doing? His intentions were pure. Leave him alone," Ella pleaded.
As usual, he ignored her plea and choked his throat harder.
"You know Ella is my girl; we are both heading back to college. But you decided to request her number without my knowledge. f**k you for thinking you could snatch my girl!" He said, before leaving his throat.
The good samaritan coughed incessantly after being freed. He resisted the excessive pain felt in his throat just to speak back at Jude.
"I never knew you were this aggressive and violent. You almost killed me. You i***t! In fact, I'll not give you my car key again. To hell with your exams!" The good Samaritan said before heading to his car.
Ella didn't want them to miss their exams. She begged the good Samaritan to reconsider his stance.
"If he doesn't apologize for his silly demeanor, I'll not release my car. You have only five minutes to go talk to him. If the time elapses, I'll zoom off."
She ran hurriedly to where Jude was positioned.
Please, you have to go apologize to him now! He's willing to forgive you and release his car so we don't miss our exams."
"Really? I've been here trying to book a cab to Santana College. But my e-hailing app is suffering a glitch. His car is the only option now."
They ran towards his car as he started driving out of the parking lot.
"Please hold on. We are coming to meet you," Ella shouted while waving at the car.
The good Samaritan sighted them, stopped his drive, and waited for them to approach him.
"Ehm... ehmm... I'm sorry for what I did to you. Please forgive me," Jude said in a remorseful tone.
The good Samaritan got down from his car right away. He then handed his car key to him.
"You've been forgiven. I'll send my driver to Santana College later in the day to pick up my car."
They thanked him for his forgiveness. Then entered his car and zoomed off immediately.
Jude drove at an insane speed on their way to Santana College. She warned him to slow down. But he refused.
"We are already running out of time. If I could increase my speed further, I definitely would."
Half way through their journey, a gun-carrying cop stopped their car.
